Stars Slots casino playing guide
It took me 7 days primarily low betting the whole time to reach level 100. (9 to reach level 110.) Whenever I bet higher than 350-450K, usually, my coins just plummeted within minutes. I think anyone who reached level 100 within 1-3 days bet higher and lucked out tremendously. Slow and steady guide:
Join a club. The higher AND more active the better. Absolute highest is Master 1. From what I've seen, Master I, II and III required players to be a minimum level (like 100+) to join and/or a request to join (mine was never accepted). Unlike similar casino games, Stars Slots won't let you do an advanced search. You can search for a specific club if you know any names, however. So you are left with the option to join the first club on the list that currently has the most collective coins made and which allows members of your current level to join. Either that or create a club (don't recommend). So go ahead and join that first one, but change later based on step #3’s information. Also, the higher the club the bigger percentage of extra free coins you get from different sources within the game. So it goes Master I, II, III, World Class I, II, III, Expert I, II, III, and last is Pro I. Since I couldn't join Master clubs I did best in World II and World I.
Collect coins. The FB group, free coins from https://www.peoplesgamezgiftexchange.com/stars-slots-free-chips/gifts or similar website, starting with the most recent and going back as far as you can. Within the game: Once daily spin the wheel; Star Bonus every 60 minutes from far bottom left side of home screen; Huuuge Heist (unlock at level 35) every 15 hours (beside Star Bonus) (the 15 hours increase the higher a level you are at for longer wait)... make sure you've gathered bucks (can see next to dollar image under coin image at top left) (amount of bucks needed increase the higher a level you are at) in case you get an empty box and want to keep what you've won so far with boxes. Tip: An empty box for one round, for example the first one, can also be the empty one in the very next round; it's random each round. I was terrible at this game and should've clicked "give up" sooner than keep gambling; Lottery (ticket to play) every 6 hours (some say value goes up at level 70, so to save them. User batmanbnb below states to save bronze tickets until level 70. It’s up to you whether to save tickets or not.); click on Shop (top middle in green) and on the top right you can click and collect free coins every 8 hours; at the bottom of the Shop screen OR to the right of the Shop image on the home screen you click and watch a video to collect coins, until you can no longer watch, every 8 hours. Also collect coins from club members every time they hit a jackpot and 1 million coins just for first time joining any club through Stars League (middle bottom of home screen).
When you join a club click on a team member's profile and connect and you'll get an option to connect/friend every member in the club. I did this and connected to as many people during games I played until I reached my limit. I figured people in the clubs I joined, even lower level clubs, may leave and join higher ones like I did. Probably would be a good idea to go to a tier II game (the middle option for higher betting than Beginner called High Limit once you've unlocked it) and connect to players currently playing it since they have high enough coins to play that. You don't have to play yourself if you don't want to: just drop in, connect, and leave. Then, at the bottom right of the home screen click on Social and you'll see every friend you have. What I did was click on those who had the highest coins at the time and see what club they were a part of: If the club was World II or higher I joined it. Question: What if you want to do better than this club you found (either through this method or the Join Club list) either because its level is too low or not active enough players? Click on Stars League (middle bottom of home screen) then click on Seasons (to the right of Members). This shows you where your club is currently placed. If you see higher placed clubs with available space AND you can join AND it's World Class II or higher then join it. Remember your old club’s name if you ever want to go back, just in case. If you attempt to join a club and you can't get in (maybe you're not at high enough a level) you are also kicked out of your current club for attempting to leave (for some reason), leaving you club-less. My favorite clubs were Polacy2019 (currently World Class I), pour tous (World Class I), and A.Y.M.K.N. TEAM (World Class I).
Betting: The general rule of thumb I found was to bet when you have a minimum of 10-20 million, which I agree with. But you can wait, collecting as many coins as you can, to start betting when you have more. The tip I read (and stuck with) was to follow the 1% bet rule: bet 1% of your current chips or even lower (like half of that).
Games: Everyone has a different favorite game. Some games are passive (can do Hold for Autospin and not babysit the game) while others you need to be engaged with*. Passive games: God of Sky, Steam City, Neptune's Mistress. *Note: User DilutedDante below stated all games are passive; for the games I saw that wanted my input (choose numbered cards for spin the wheel, etc.) I didn't wait long enough to see if the game would perform the action for me. Recommended games from other users here on Reddit: Wheel of Wins, God of Sky (one of my favorites), Speedy 777 Spins, Retro 81 (one of my favorites), Fortunes Jackpots (never played), and Jackpot Mania (never played). Of course, more games are unlocked the higher the level you reach. I recommend that if you are under 30 million to play God of Sky or Speedy 777 (which didn’t work too well for me, but others like it when trying to gain coins). Remember to do minimum betting or 1% or lower betting. Occasionally I would switch games and play Retro 81 or Wheel of Wins. Do this until you reach level 38 and unlocked Steam City and level 40 to unlock Neptune’s Mistress. I almost exclusively played these two, passively, to reach level 100. My method was betting 100K or 125K (if I had a minimum of 40-50 million). I didn’t feel secure enough to bet 250K or higher until I had a minimum of 100 million because otherwise I would run out of coins too quickly. I rarely bet higher than 500K. I think it took 2 hours or so, minimum betting, to level up each time. So that’s why it took me a week to do this and reach level 100. I found Steam City to be the best game overall as another user did. Sometimes, even at lowest betting and even with 100+ million coins and leaving it to play on its own, I would lose all coins. But that’s OK - just collect coins again and play again. It’s all luck. Another time I started with 15 million and it jumped to 125 or so million in a short amount of time with 100K betting playing Neptune’s Mistress.
I don’t recommend Daisy’s Challenges (far bottom right of main screen). The games to be played either rarely had wins for me or the minimum bet required to unlock a box was higher than I was comfortable doing. See user DilutedDante's comment below for benefit of doing Daisy's Challenges.
If anyone has any other tips or corrections on what I've said (I've read other users got into Master clubs, but they all seemed to be for very high level players?) please share! This is just my conservative and mostly passive playing guide based on how the experience was for me. Some users do recommend Daisy's Challenges or betting higher playing the 2nd tiemiddle High Limit slot machine and had better luck with those than I did. I gathered many other tips from various users from the Swagbucks Reddit thread not mentioned here. If anyone wants me to include some of them I can. See below for user Kpheark1's additional tips.
https://imgur.com/a/Wsm00yt For me, it has been 5 years since I first downloaded Dokkan Battle. Like most of you, I started out this game because I was a big fan of Dragon Ball Z. My fandom included owning the original Pioneer VHS tapes, to playing the original Score DBZ CCG and the subsequent but short-lived sequel made by Panini, to being able to attend the World Premiere of Resurrection F in LA. I’ve been fairly quiet on Reddit as of recently, but have used this community as a resource to beat challenging events (SBR, LGE, etc.), and getting information on future summons. I hope that reading this post gives you a sense of nostalgia, advice if you need it, and just general perspective. Year 1: A more in-depth 1st year: https://www.reddit.com/DBZDokkanBattle/comments/4w22ig/365_days_login_a_f2p_story/ Find your favorite gif involving crazy, huh, wtf, jaw drops and insert them here. That was Year 1 of Dokkan for me. I had no idea of team building, links, etc. If you ever played a TCG like Pokemon or Magic and just jammed your first decks with your favorite foils and rare cards you had; that was my first Dokkan team building experience. Very little synergy. We really didn’t have dedicated leader skills that provided ki and boosts. There was a point where I felt accomplished because I could field a full UR team. The Dokkan Medal event grinds were particularly brutal in-game events because their power level was so much higher unless you had the right units, which obviously required pulling on banners. In other gatcha games, these were raiders, great units specially for that event (SSR AGL SS Kid Trunks for Broly, the Androids for Cell, etc). For another perspective, we grinded these events for 1 medal drops. We needed a total of 11 to Dokkan a unit. And it was never even a guarantee that you were going to beat the event. Truly had to be lucky and resourceful with your items. I know I probably wasted some stones to continue the event and finish it for 1 MEDAL! As far as summons go, I think a lot of the community were very much, “It’s new! Summon!” I eventually realized that Japan was a head of us in the Dokkan timeline, so I could really start to strategically plan which units did I want to try to get rather than pull aimlessly. Broly was the first unit I had future knowledge of so I saved for that unit. This is a mentality that I continue to have to this day: figure out the next great banner and save for that. The first World Tournaments were some of the longest grindfests I had ever seen. This is my old man on the porch moment of “Back in my day, we had to get 100 Wins for a GSSR.” If I recall correctly, we did not have a GSSR for a Multi on our Dragon Stone summons. So, I originally saw the World Tournaments as ways to get GSSR. Unfortunately, to this day, the WT exclusives aren’t game-breaking; they’re more trophy units. I can recall those first WTs and thinking I might try to go for top to try to get the exclusive but realizing that the time commitment, stones, and lack of use of the WT exclusive led me to just go for the GSSR and save the stones for pulls. STR Broly, the first AOE in Dokkan, was probably the most desired unit and one that I saved the most for at the time. Given how World Tournaments were run, Broly could be a literal time saver. I recall pulling a lot trying to get Broly but didn’t get him until before the 2nd Anniversary. I recall a moment where I had created and rerolled another account on a separate device just to see if I could Broly. Well, it just so happened I did. I was at a true crossroads of “Do I make this my main?” For a small amount of time, I was running both accounts, but I choose to eventually let go of that alt with Broly because I had pulled TEQ Majin Vegeta and knew it was going to Dokkan to be an AOE so it was a fair substitute for Broly. Plus, I was saving for Super Gogeta on the main, which I had pulled upon his release in the 1st Anniversary. That was enough to say, this is my main. Even if doesn’t have Broly on it. Prior to the STR Super Gogeta release, I also inspired to write the original: ‘Twas the Night Before Gogeta: one of my proudest Reddit moments. https://www.reddit.com/DBZDokkanBattle/comments/4rpkmp/a_dokkan_poem_twas_the_night_before_gogeta/ Year 2: A more in-depth 2nd year: https://www.reddit.com/DBZDokkanBattle/comments/6st41n/a_2_year_reflection_of_dokkan/ After pulling STR Super Gogeta and STR SS3 Goku, I felt having a full Over in a Flash team was stellar. Double STR Super Gogeta lead plus OIAF gave +9 Ki to Unit 1 and 3 and +12 Ki to the middle Unit. Spamming Supers became the name of the game, especially in World Tournament. Now with STR Super Gogeta in hand, the in-game events and quests became much more doable. Probably the most significant event of this year was Prime Battle LR SS Goku. This introduced Global to the first LR. At the time, you had to only use Strike and drop units to complete it. For a reference point, the optimal team was INT Chilled lead with Mecha Frieza, Android 16, King Vegeta, etc. And the main event was 50 Stamina, not the 25 that they are now. Farming any and all drop units is the equivalent to forcing a child to eat their vegetables. You may not like it, but it is in your best interest to do so. That can now be seen with the current EZAs that are limiting who can be brought into the event. (For the record, with the incoming EZA for LR SS Goku, I will not be grinding out another 777 medals for 5 SA. I will gladly use 5 Elder Kais.) Remember SSR Broly and how I was going crazy for him? Year 2 was when the LR form of him came out. And history repeats itself again lol. Now this is a spoiler alert, but I pulled LR Broly…on the 5th year 200 DS Guaranteed LR Banner. It’s been that long. However, with the shifts to WT and LR Broly friends at high enough ranks, it did not become necessary to have LR Broly in my box. Overall, Year 2 was a lot of the same. World Tournament. Dokkan Fest. Repeat. With knowledge of AGL Super Vegito on Japan coming at our 2nd year Anniversary, that became the next unit for stone saving. The first tank and counter unit, Super Vegito did not disappoint. It also was a shift from Rainbow teams to more structured teams based on color. So AGL became the top team, INT not being far behind but the other 3 clearly far behind them. Two Rares, Oceanus Shenron and Muraski, became optimal on Super AGL for their sealing; that’s when you know the team is badass. This team held their own, but the 120% meta was coming. The end of year 2 was bringing STR SS4 Goku and AGL SS4 Vegeta. I was lucky to pull SS4 Goku, but not SS4 Vegeta. This would be the first significant meta-defining unit I did not pull. But 1 out of 2 was not bad. Finally, Year 2 introduced Global’s Hidden Potential System. A staple still in Dokkan today, but I could not tell you how many reddit posts there were for “What do I unlock?” or “Crit or Dodge?” But the worst was having to open up EVERY. SINGLE. NODE. ONE. BY. ONE. New players today won’t know the pain lol. Let me sum up Hidden Potential System 101: Bottom right and top left first. Most cases: Crit > AA > Dodge. AA > Crit if the Super stacks something like Attack or Defense, especially if the stack is infinite. Dodge if the Unit is very much support and can’t take any hits nor give out any hits. Year 3: Year 3 of Dokkan was where the difficulty level of the game jumped the most. Honestly, this was probably the golden age of Dokkan. 120% leads were coming and it brought some level of parody. A fair amount of the teams with their 120 leads could be viable in a lot of events. And with the looming Super Battle Roads coming, you know you need something in every category if you wanted to complete all of them. Where Dokkan decided to implement a WWE-style-glass-break-theme-music and Stone Cold Steve Austin entrance was SS4 Gogeta and Omega Shenron as 150% leads in the middle of the 120% leads releases. This gave the community a glimpse into the direction of leads and it was another breath of fresh air. We would get categories as our primary way of building teams and it’s still very much implemented today at the 5th year anniversary going into Year 6 and beyond. I personally was fortunate enough to pull SS4 Gogeta and Fusions became my primary. (No Omega Shenron pulled though, but I wasn’t disappointed.) However, I did know that I was still likely needing to pull on the 120 lead banners for the incoming SBR Stages 1-10. I recall limiting myself to a budget on the 120 banners. Either discounts, multis and tickets, but nothing to bankrupt myself stone wise. With the way the game was progressing, there was always going to be something new and game-defining so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t left behind. (This would eventually be the incoming LR SS Gogeta duo and Vegito duo.) I wanted to give myself the best chance of not being left behind and making sure I didn’t spend too much on sub-par banners. We also started seeing older units getting rebirths or Dokkan Awakenings. These would be great in principle, but I don’t recall many earning slots onto a significant team. Others can chime in here. More LRs from Rising Dragon Carnivals or Legendary Summon banners would come but most of these LRs ok, but not great. (LR Trunks, Boujack, etc.). Year 3 also brought along two free LR units, LR Vegito Blue and LR 1000 Day Goku. Some players were pissed that we needed Prepared for Battle units to complete all the missions associated with LR Vegito Blue. I was fortunate that it did not really affect me and I completed the missions without much difficultly. Regarding 1000 Day Goku, I thought it was a great way for fan service: not game breaking, but serviceable as a substitute rainbow lead. (These would start to see more use in the future Virtual Battlefield/Ultimate Clash.) EZAs would also be introduced with AGL SS3 Goku. Fairly grindy, but another good way for Dokkan to keep older units relevant. Otherwise, this game would always be “Pull on the new unit banner!” And with some of the events rewarding players with larger boxes or being able to flexible teams (current restricted EZA events), it became more that there was a sense of needing to collect units as well, even if they were not game breaking or meta relevant. Super Battle Road would also be introduced in Year 3. Probably the hardest category of events to this day. This event would truly let tanks (AGL Golden Frieza, STR SS3 Vegeta), AOEs (LR STR Broly), and stunners and sealers (PHY Gotenks) would really earn their spot in Dokkan. My SBR mentality was also Stage 1 = No items. Stage 2 = 2 Items. Stage 3 hopefull you Dokkan attack. Stage 4 use all of your items. I never actually beat an SBR until 3rd Anniversary and LR Potara Duo were available. On the bottom is a link to all my SBR wins. The end of Year 3 brought the much anticipated LR Potara and Fusion Duos at the 3rd Anniversary. These guys made their respective SBRs much more doable with their built in Senzu Bean transformation. Like a fine wine, these two would get better as time went on with introductions of the Kamehameha and Joined Forces categories. Year 4: Much like Year 2 was to Year 1, Year 4 felt like a continuation of similar events in Year 3. Year 4 brought us more EZAs, more LRs (both free like Prime Battle Trunks and summonable), World Tournaments and Dokkan Fests. It became clear that LRs in general were going to be the standard moving forward in regards to gameplay. The tricky part was navigating which LRs were worth it. For me, it was hard but using this subreddit and the knowledge of Japan’s timeline made it a little easier. It was almost a certainty that the Anniversary LRs would be worth it. I believe I skipped most of the banners except TEQ Goku & Frieza, but never managed to pull the duo until recently. Some of the more unique units to come were the Transforming Goku, Frieza, and Vegeta. I believe these are glimpse into more of the future of Dokkan. It would not surprise me if LR versions of these unit concepts come in the future. We currently see them but they are either locked by an active skill or condition needed (HP, Team member needed, etc.), not one that transforms automatically. The Dokkan Punch Machine was introduced during this year. This is one of the few events I haven’t completed, specifically the no item stages 1 to 3. These definitely require a little luck and patience. But please don’t feel discouraged if you don’t complete these events right away. They don’t go away, and over time, you’ll get units and dupes to make this event easier. Ultimate Clash (or Virtual Battlefield 2.0 in Japan) would be one of the major game updates to Dokkan in Year 4. After watching the mess that Virtual Battlefield 1.0 was in Japan, seeing the 2.0 version was relieving. This event favors the longer time players who have accumulated lots of units in their box (or the whales who spend a lot on banners lol). While trying to manage these teams some of things I consider are at least 1 team per faction and color combination (70 units), 1 F2P team that takes out boss 1 (was Namek Gohan and Ginyu Force. Now that team is Team Bardock and AGL Broly), a team of stunners/sealers (Great Saiyaman stage), extra Rainbow leads (1000 Day Goku, SBR Gohan, SBR Goku, LR Vegito Blue, etc.) Prior to the 4th Anniversary, Global learned about the Coin System. This was a very refreshing update to the game. Allowing players an outlet to not feel completely shafted and could use their coins to get the units they wanted. My stone saving was aimed at the 4th Anniversary SS4 Goku and SS4 Vegeta, and particularly began when the coins were announced. 4th Anniversary I went ham. Managing both SS4 units, my first Fusion Duo and a couple Potara duo dupes. Having the coins in your back pocket was a very welcoming safety net. Year 5: If you are still reading this, more power to you. I won’t go to in depth because (a) it’s again a lot of the same: WT, DokkanFest, Ultimate Clash, etc. and (b) you probably played through part of it so you recall a lot of it too. Two things stand out for me during Year 5. The New Years Banner and Kale & Caulifa’s LR debut. For the New Years banner, this is mainly a “learn from my mistake” moment. I had enough Red Coins at the time for LR GoBros. But for some reason I burned through a couple hundred stones seeing if I could pull them and keep me stones (Essentially, trying to have my cake and eat it too) and never getting them. So I was out some stones for a future banner and ended up having to use my red coins to acquire GoBros. Had I just used the coins prior to summoning, then I would have more stones for future banners. Pro Tip: If you’re chasing a unit that you can just get with coins, get it with coins. Save the stones for future banners. The coins will replenish themselves. LR Kale & Caulifa stand out to me because it was the Legendary Banner (yellow coin) that I would commit myself to pulling for. The hype was real and I definitely pulled the sisters and that became my ultimate flex and current team to run (up until 5th Anniversary). Fighting Legend: Goku (or LGE) was nice new addition to challenge the player base. I personally like trying to find teams that would knock out multiple missions (Thanks to this reddit, I found a 4-in-1 Potara, Time Travelers, Future, Realm of Gods team. 3-in-1 for me because I had already beaten Potara) Final reflections: So, the ultimate question probably is “Why am I still playing?” There’s honestly not much left for me to do. I do the weekly Ultimate Clashes when they come out, daily missions, etc. I still need to do Punch Machine Stages 1-3, but I don’t feel a huge pressure to finish it out. It’ll happen eventually. With my spare Stamina, I’ve been trying to rank up to 999 (currently at 866), but again, don’t feel a ton of great pressure to complete it yet. I look forward to when E. SBR is released. As a fan of Dragon Ball, I’ve liked that they have implemented content from all franchises including DB, Z, GT, Super, SDBH, and even bringing in Arale! I have not let the game be my end all be all. In the past 5 years, I have traveled to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay. I just honestly found ways and downtime to play the game. Dokkan has become more of a collecting game for myself. I’m currently only missing 8 LRs, and they range from LR Bardock to Nappa/Vegeta. There are still moments of excitement when I summon and pull a desired unit. There are still moments of relief when I complete difficult events (most recently the LGE missions.) Whatever Dokkan is for you, I hope you remember that at its roots, it is a game and it is meant to be fun. One thing about this game that truly makes me smile is how it (along with DBS) have really brought in a new generation of Dragon Ball fans. If you would have told me 15 years ago that Dragon Ball would still be as popular as it is (probably even more popular than before), I would have laughed it off and called you crazy. As a high school teacher, I've seen some of my students get the game (and DB Legends, but we won't get into that discussion) and ask to see my box or ask for advice on their team. I hope the fandom for Dokkan and Dragon Ball continue to grow in the future. As far as in-game tips, I would emphasize the following:
You do not need to rainbow a featured unit for it to be viable. 0 dupes is very much useable. 2 dupes is probably the most functionable on a budget. Full rainbow is just icing on the cake. I have a 0 dupes on LR Vegito, LR Gogeta, LR K&C and have never felt that I need to pull more on their banners. Just get the unit.
Use the search feature on reddit. You’ll find a plethora of example teams out there.
Understand what’s happening in Japan to figure out what to save for (if you want to save).
Grind out the F2P units. We’ve recently seen an uptick in events like EZA Areas which required specific drop characters to attempt and complete.
What I would like to see:
A new type of lead. We’ve been on categories for 3 years now. Off the top of my head, a leader that concentrates on a single character? Then we can generate teams based on 1 character? Something like All “Goku” named units get +4 Ki, +190% Attack, Defense, HP.
An actual Rainbow unit? Not TEQ, STR. Brand new typing. Super effective against all, reduced damage on defense.
More story quests (PS. I have no idea what the actual plot is. This is really for stone purposes lol).
(In classic DBZ Announcer End of Episode voice.) Will the streak continue on to Year 6? Will new banners and unit change the meta again? Will another event be introduced to challenge all players? [OG+REMAKE SPOILERS] A comprehensive list of every single easter egg in the Remake
As you've likely already noticed, the FFVII Remake is filled to the brim with small details, references and easter eggs, so as someone who usually hunts down details as a job, I wanted to see how many references I could spot across my multiple playthroughs, so I've been keeping track of all of this in a notepad as I've been playing. This is definitely not all the details, but it should hopefully cover most of them. I hope this can give you more appreciation for all the effort the developers poured into this game. That said, the definition of a detail/easter egg can vary a lot, so I want to establish some rules:
Spoilers for all of Part 1 in the Remake. Anything that is in spoilers below refers to spoilers for the original game beyond it. No spoilers will be unmarked
I'm not going to count story foreshadowing, whether it's stuff about the original (Rude purposefully missing Tifa, Barret reacting to Elmyra when she says she's not related by blood to her daughter, etc.) or foreshadowing for some of the new stuff with the ending and new plotlines. That's its own separate deal (only exception is when it's a visual detail)
I'll mention some stuff that references the original or some details that were preserved, but I'm not going to go into every single thing that was carried from the original. This is a remake, duh, bunch of stuff will be the same as the original
With that said, let's get started! Here are all the details I could find, classified by chapters: GENERAL:
At random, but one of Barret's post-battle quotes can be him humming the FFVII victory theme, which he also does at a couple other points in the game
Posters for LOVELESS, the famous play advertised in the original can be seen all across the game
Advertisements for Stamp, the propaganda-oriented children's show, can be seen across several areas (even before he is relevant or even mentioned)
Advertisements for "Banora White Apple Juice" can be found at some points, a reference to the dumbapples from Crisis Core
A hair tonic advertisement can also be spotted at some points, claiming to offer the perfect radiant and spiky hair, a reference to Cloud often being jokingly referred to follow the trope of "spiky-haired anime swordsmen"
Vending machines for drinks can be found across the game. Some of them feature the Bomb enemy, while others feature "Clear Icicle", a likely reference to the area from the original, Icicle Inn
Benches feature the checkpoint logo for the original, as they sort of act as replacements for the checkpoints. The logo itself represents a large C, standing for Checkpoint and is in fact not a question mark as I had been lied to believe for many years
Walking in opposite directions of where you're told to go will often result in exclusive dialogue, where characters often question Cloud's sense of direction to amusing extents. Each location tends to have at least two or three lines for going in the wrong direction, the amount of unique lines for this is staggering
Cloud's punisher mode has him positioning his sword in the same stance Sephiroth used to wield his Masamune blade during his days as a SOLDIER (seen less predominantly in the future during the events of FFVII). This might be a callback to how Cloud used to idolize Sephiroth as a SOLDIER and wanting to be more like him, subconsciously adopting his battle stance. Similarly, the normal operator mode stance is more like how Zack held his sword
The circlet is likely a reference to the circlet worn by Final Fantasy VIII's Edea (granted, the circlet has been reocurring in many Final Fantasies, but this one's quite similar to Edea's)
The fury ring features the kanji 怒, which stands for, as you might imagine, "fury"
CHAPTER 1:
Just like in the original, defeating the first two Shinra soldiers at the start will cause Cloud to level up to level 7
Barret calls Cloud "Stamp", mocking him for being a loyal doggie to Shinra. This is referencing the character of Stamp. Most players will likely not have met Stamp yet, but those that took enough time to look around their surroundings will have already spotted him in the ads at the train station
Dodging all lasers without being hit will result in unique dialogue from Jessie. Getting hit some times will result in the dialogue most players will see and getting hit multiple times will have Jessie question if Cloud has a self-damaging fetish
CHAPTER 2:
Since Cloud meets Aerith in the same area where the opening of the game takes place, it is possible to go down the same alley Aerith first stared and even spot the broken mako pipe
Going to the opposite end of that alley, you can look through a grate to see the station, where you'll be able to spot the Huntsman, the boss of the chapter you later fight, commanding his troops to catch the terrorists with a unique line
A Shinra troop seems to recognize Cloud in chapter 2 before he leaps on the train. Playing with Japanese voices will however reveal he says "Wait, that sword-", indicating he actually recognized Zack's sword from the time he was a SOLDIER
Kyrie can be met as early as chapter 2, as a passenger on the train. If Cloud approaches her, she'll try to distance herself, perhaps to avoid suspicion given Cloud's appearance as a warrior
CHAPTER 3:
At the start of the chapter Kyrie can be seen again getting off the train. She is later seen spreading rumors among her fellow grounders near Seventh Heaven. The cool thing here is that while Kyrie is technically a character from an FFVII novel, she is actually taking the place of an NPC in Sector 7 in the original who loved to spread rumours, making that NPC a somewhat relevant character now!
Most NPCs from the original are still there, Kyrie as rumor girl, the two recruit guards, the special spot guy, the embracing couple at the station, the station manager, etc. Same applies for a lot of NPCs across the game, like the guy sleeping on the train among many others
You can also spot the Shinra Middle Manager reuniting with his family after you get off the train with some unique dialogue
While the jukebox is a newly added gameplay mechanic in the Remake, an uninteractable jukebox was actually present in the original game in Seventh Heaven, this time being repurposed into the jukebox mechanic
Also, standing next to most jukeboxes in the game will result in the characters dancing/nodding their heads/tapping their feet
The darts rankings will feature a lot of the other Avalanche members mentioned later by Barret in his date scene in Chapter 14, as well as characters like Johnny
Activating the pinball machine elevator will result in the screen showing a 777,777 score (it also features seven Bomb enemies), being a reference to both the number 7 being considered a lucky number in gambling/slot machines as well as the game's title
When entering Tifa's room, you can spot some boots and a purse next to her bed. The boots are actually the same she wore during the Nibelheim incident with her cowboy outfit. It seems this theme might've been extended to the rest of Nibelheim, which in the brief flashback we get at the start seems to show they are reimagining it more as a Wild West-style town, a beautiful new take on this iconic location
If all sidequests are completed, Tifa will ask Cloud what outfit she should wear, being given three options. The first is mature, being the dress from the original game. The third option is "exotic", which has her wearing a traditional Japanese-inspired dress. The second option however may confuse some, as while it's labeled as "sporty", it has her wearing a traditional Chinese dress. However, the original Japanese version actually refers to it as more of a fighting outfit. This means it may likely be a small nod to the iconic Street Fighter character Chun Li. Skipping these side quests and as such this event will default Tifa's outfit to mature, as a reference to it being the only choice in the original game
Jessie is mentioned having wanted to be an actress, trying to get her big break at the Gold Saucer. She might in fact be referring to the large theater found there and the play that happens during the date in the original, as in her letter she claims she was cast in the role of a princess, the same princess that your date plays as
Jessie's mom making pizza could be an allusion to the plate, the rotten pizza as they call it, dividing her and her daughter
CHAPTER 5:
Once getting off the train, in the original you could walk several screens towards the direction of the screen and reach a special area where you could grind out enemies. In the Remake, it is possible to also run in this opposite direction (away from Barret who needs help), which will result in Tifa questioning why Cloud is running in the wrong direction and what is he looking for (but not stopping him), a nod to players of the original trying to find that easter egg. However, reaching the end of that section will allow the player to actually find a hidden service room, inside of which they can find a set of crates for the chance of a drop, a small reward for curious players trying to find this easter egg
CHAPTER 6:
There's a section towards the end where you can find summon materia inside one of the vents. Redoing that chapter and redoing that section will obviously not result in summon materia being there, but instead will feature one of the manuscripts, the only one that can be found just laying around the overworld instead of being obtained via special means or just beating bosses on Hard
CHAPTER 7:
It is possible to completely ignore the ability to nerf the Airbuster by keeping all the keycards and not using them (only the first is obligatory for story reasons, but it does not nerf the Airbuster in any way), resulting in a far more challenging boss fight that makes for a great self-imposed challenge on Hard, where the Airbuster will spam his stun fingers and BBs one after the other. Managing to beat him will result in you being able to keep the keycards in your special inventory past that chapter
CHAPTER 8:
When first gaining control in the church, walking towards the door allows you to hear Reno from beyond it, in reference to the original
While fighting Reno, Aerith asks to not step on the flowers. If either Cloud or Reno steps on them during the fight, she'll get a little mad. For Reno in particular, she claims "You're gonna catch holy hell!", which is a reference to one of Reno's subordinates telling him that in the original after he steps over the flowers
The barrels thrown in the original can be found in the church attic
After leaving the church, Aerith asks "shall we mosey on?" and Cloud replies with "Let's". Not only is this a reference to the endgame of the original, where Cloud says "Let's mosey" before the final battle with Sephiroth, but this is likely hinting at this Remake establishing that Cloud picked this line up from Aerith and that is why he says it before the game's endgame sequence, to honor her legacy and get back at Sephiroth, which will make the whole ending sequence be even more impactful
More of a mistake than a reference, but the sector 5 area incorrectly uses the Sector 6 skybox (the texture on the sky), resulting in the Sector 6 plate being seen over Sector 5. This is likely because of Sectors 5 and 6 taking place in the same area, but I'm baffled they didn't include a transition for the skybox
One of the NPCs can be seen mentioning Costa del Sol as a recommended honeymoon location. He also brings up the tour of the Shinra building, referring to the very same tour Cloud and the others go through later in the game
A Don Tonberry, Fat Chocobo, a Moogle and a Cactuar can be seen drawn on the blackboard at the Leaf House
Inside the Leaf House, as well as some other locations in the game, a calendar can be seen, which features the year marked as 0007. This is in reference to FFVII taking place on the year 0007 of the calendar used within the game's world
When you go pick out flowers with Aerith, your choices will actually make a difference: picking a mix of all flowers or picking only yellow flowers will result in a Chocobo pattern. Picking only white flowers will result in a Moogle pattern and picking only foxtails will result in a Cactuar pattern
If you put Rude to sleep when fighting him, he mumbles "Reno..." as a voiceline in his sleep
When Rude receives a phone call, his phone plays the fanfare theme. This is likely a reference to one of the three dudes in Advent Children whose name I can't be bothered to recall also having said ringtone
CHAPTER 9: (whoo boy, strap in because there's a billion references here)
Not giving Aerith a high five will result in her insisting Cloud to give her one. After a while she'll complain about losing circulation in her arm
In Evergreen Park, before leaving, Cloud can head into the slide and enter inside, sliding down with his arms up like a little kid. He can also skip across the tires on the ground
While heading to Wall Market, advertisements for the singer Akila can be seen, with the singer himself being found at Drunkard's. The signs have "Midgar Blues" written in Japanese, which is the name of the disk he gives you
Akila is also found written as the donator of the flowers Cloud receives at the colosseum, stated to be the executive chairman of Cloud's fan club. Aerith's flowers instead come from florist Watanabe, the name of a shop (and supposedly a florist) found in the area. Interestingly, while Cloud is addressed as "Cloud-san", Aerith is referred to as "Aerith-sama" out of deep admiration
Easy to miss, but when talking with Johnny before the first match at the colosseum, it is possible to find a bottle on the table, which Johnny claims was offered as something that can provide extra strength. If you drink it, it raises the chances of getting the Sam quests
After defeating each opponent every round at the colosseum, you can find them defeated in the room next to the gate, each with their own unique dialogue (yes, even the robots)
When the gatekeeper asks if you're ready, you can say "no" if you need more time to prepare. The cool detail is that at first he gets angry at you for taking so long, but the more matches you win the nicer he becomes to you, telling you to take your time and not push yourself too hard
Pretty obvious so it may be redundant to mention, but after a victory in the Colosseum or Shinra simulator, each character will do their victory animation from the original game
Lots of unique dialogue at the colosseum: unique dialogue for not leaving the arena after a fight, unique dialogue for using particular summons during specific battles like the Hell House, unique dialogue for dying on the Hell House (announcers mocking you), as well as dialogue changing depending on certain attacks you pull off or fail to pull off
Entering the back alleyway hidden behind the Honey Bee Inn when first entering Wall Market will result in you encountering Miss Folia, the teacher at the Leaf House orphanage, who is revealed to have a night job as a honeygirl
One of the npcs can mention the drink "icicle vodka" from a town in the far north, which is referencing once again the Icicle Inn, a location from the original
An NPC working at one of the places at Wall Market can be seen talking with a woman, asking her not to visit him at work. It turns out this woman is his mom, who came to deliver his lunch box and the man is embarrassed his mom is still treating him like a kid
A certain NPC will tell Cloud that the place he's eating at is full, but will actually invite him if he has crossdressed, showing some questionable double standards
One of the signs at Wall Market indicates a pub/shop called "Therion" in Japanese, likely a reference to one of the main characters of Octopath Traveler. That game was also developed by Square (with some members of the staff like the composer also working on the Remake) and is often considered a bit of a sister game to Final Fantasy with many of its general mechanics and motifs
When first arriving at Don Corneo's residence, Aerith will point out "I think we might've found our man". This is lost to non-Japanese players, as the sign on top of his residence reads the kanji "古 留 根 尾", with each kanji being individually readable as "Co-r-ne-o"
At the restaurant in Wall Market, one of the customers will ask for "more of that Malboro stuff", suggesting the chef puts Malboro contents in his food. I suppose that solves the mystery as to why his food gives everyone such a massive stomach ache...
Jules, Jay and Ronnie at the gym are all based on character models from the original. However, their names are likely based from three famous bodybuilders, being Jules Bacon, Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman
Jules's name in Japanese is written similarly to Andrea's name. The Ultimania reveals that the two are actually siblings
When Madam M begins to dress up Aerith, she says "peek and I'll poke your eyes out", a reference to Aerith asking for no peeking in the original. It is possible to follow after and approach them, but Madam M will scold Cloud before he can even see them
Depending on how many quests you completed in Chapter 5, Aerith will get one of three different dresses, which will result in different reactions from onlookers, as well as different scenes and completely unique remixes of her theme, otherwise not heard anywhere else in the game. Attaining her red dress will result in fireworks exploding in the background, which is likely a reference to the iconic date scene at the Gold Saucer in the original where fireworks are seen in the background, even being referenced in the name of that track, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is called back if the player chooses Aerith as the date in future Remake parts
When first entering the Honey Bee Inn, you can interact with any of the four rooms before taking part in the dances: one will feature Johnny's father (also previously seen across Wall Market, and the other will feature a honeygirl getting prepared (a reference to a room in the original). The other two rooms allow you to look through their peepholes like in the original: one of them features Palmer doing some roleplaying as a bee catcher, while the other features a man getting acupuncture
During the honey bee inn dancing sequences, performing poorly will result in a series of different reactions: the honeygirls will respond awkwardly if Cloud performs badly during practice and Aerith audibly cringes if Cloud screws up the main dance
However, performing excellently will result in the honey girls praising Cloud (even saying deelicious, a pun on "bee") and Aerith praising Cloud during his dance. Similarly, performing badly will result in the crowd being pretty mild and silent, but performing well will result in the crowd going wild and cheering
Performing well will also result in gaining the disk for the "Let the Battles Begin Remake" during practice (requiring a perfect score of 10) and Andrea's earrings in the main dance (requiring a high score, beyond that a perfect score makes no difference). The earrings are purely cosmetic, as it doesn't seem possible not to be chosen by Corneo. Interestingly however, the earrings possess a bee pattern on them
During the dance scene with Andrea, some of the dance moves are references: during the final sequence Cloud has to perform two squats and the dance ends with him positioning one hand on the floor and the other to the side, mimicking his position when he gets off the train at the start. Furthermore, during the final dance Cloud spins in place, in reference to the spinning during the Gold Saucer date performance, where all actors move around by spinning
After the honey bee inn scene, it is possible to interact with a massive number of characters as crossdressing Cloud:
Returning to the honey bee inn, it is possible to spot Palmer, who begs his secretary to adjourn his meetings so he can have more fun in Wall Market. He also reveals he's a regular at Madam M's
Talking to the honey bee inn receptionist, he will praise Cloud for his fantastic dance moves
Entering inside will allow you to talk with Andrea, who tells Cloud he has already planned to deliver his gear with Leslie
Going to the room to the side will allow you to find Johnny's father asleep, but the honey girl next to him asks you not to wake him up
The room with the guy getting an acupuncture isn't changed much (though it is mildly different), but the room that previously had Palmer now features a random NPC doing nurse play with a honeygirl. She uses a massive stinger-colored syringe model that is completely unique to this easter egg. Shows you the level of detail that they went out of their way to make a model for such an obscure easter egg
If "the party never stops" is completed, you can also talk to the boutique man's father inside the inn
Heading back to the massage parlor, if you have done the Madam M side quests (otherwise this is not available), you'll be able to talk to her and Chocobo Sam, with Madam M revealing that she made Cloud's outfit in advance as she was making Aerith's dress too under request by Andrea (which might be where Aerith learned of the plan too), claiming it a favor towards Cloud, who she now sees as a friend. Sam will remark on not understanding the appeal of crossdressing, but Madam M knocks him for being so close-minded
On the other hand, if you did Sam's sidequests, heading to the Chocobo ranch you'll be able to talk to him, where he'll reveal he was the one who donated the outfit to Andrea
Talking to Jules will result in him saying he came running to see your dancing and offers you to swing by the gym again after you're back in more normal clothes. This conversation will not trigger if you did not do Burning Thighs, for the sake of consistency
Talking to Chadley will result in him not recognizing Cloud, but experiencing an "emotional response" at his beauty
If you did The Price of Thievery, heading to the entrance of Wall Market will allow you to talk with Mireille
The gatekeeper at the colosseum seems to recognize you, but requests that if you want to fight that you do so in your normal outfit, despite how amusing it would otherwise be
The weapons shop guy also has some amusing dialogue ("your beauty is deadlier than any weapon in this shop")
Easy to miss, but it is possible to talk to Johnny again
Many NPCs in general will comment about Cloud's beauty. One amusing conversation in particular revolves around a man in front of the boutique who is always gawking at other girls, with his girlfriend getting increasingly angrier over the several conversations you can trigger until she straight up gets fed of him for being a scumbag
After being thrown into the sex dungeon, before heading upstairs, it is possible to approach Aerith or Tifa, who will pose for Cloud and ask how their outfits look as they pose. Aerith will even claim that Cloud is definitely into crossdressing
When gaining control of Aerith in Corneo's mansion, it is possible to return to the room she first went in with Cloud and open an entrance to the sex dungeon, where she'll find an otherwise inaccessible chest. To enter she must step on a plate with the kanji for up and down, which will play a unique stepping animation otherwise never seen anywhere else in the game
CHAPTER 11:
The train graveyard features a chest out of sight that contains one gil inside. The ghosts will mock Cloud for falling for their prank
CHAPTER 13:
In Chapter 13, Andrea can be talked to in Wall Market, triggering this dialogue: "Did you find what you were looking for?"; "Thanks to you I did"; "Good. Now never let it go again". This could on one hand be interpreted as Cloud having found Tifa in the mansion, as Andrea's help allowed him to infiltrate it, with the "never let it go again" referring to , or could also be interpreted as Cloud finding himself/his own identity more thanks to him. The quote is somewhat reminiscent of "What you pursue will be yours, but you will lose something dear" by Cait Sith in the original, which is later shown to refer to Aerith. Andrea essentially says the opposite, saying "you found what you pursued, now don't ever lose it", so I wonder if there is a bit of a dual meaning with this scene
Common knowledge, but depending on your actions in the game, you can attain a special scene in Elmyra's garden with either Aerith, Tifa or even Barret, as a newly re-imagined version of the date mechanics from the original, which allow the player to make the story feel more personal by deciding who Cloud harbors romantic feelings for (with the developers having often stated that there is no "canon" romance option, as that is determined by each and every player's experience)
If the player has not previously interacted with Mireille in previous chapter sidequests, she'll introduce herself for the first time to Cloud, Barret and Tifa in Chapter 14 for the sake of consistency, same with some other npcs
Raiding all the vaults will grant access to the Ruby, Emerald and Diamond tiaras. As many have likely noticed, these are in the shape of the three iconic weapon creatures from the original
CHAPTER 15:
The boss of the chapter, the Valkyrie, was originally fought on the elevator sequence (similarly, the Swordipede in Chapter 17 is based on a common enemy, while the Hell House and Eligor from the Train Graveyard were also originally common enemies)
At the start of Chapter 16, when heading through the walkway with the massive lights, looking straight into the lights will result in the characters covering their eyes
After entering Shinra headquarters and switching to Tifa, instead of jumping to the platforms, head back and go down back to the garage with her. This will play a unique remix of the original track otherwise not heard anywhere else (aside fro a couple instances in the building where you also go back, such as heading back down the stairs). Insane to think they made a whole track only for going back, give it a listen!
The stairs sequence is completely scripted, as the characters will always rubberband off Cloud and not proceed more than a set number of floors ahead and the speed of Cloud is determined by the floors he's on. Tifa will always end up first and it's only possible to barely beat Barret. However, after the sequence is over, it is possible to go back all the way down (this time not slowing down the player at all) and take the elevator instead (though that will not play that sequence of cutscenes). Going down at random instances also triggers unique dialogue
The memorial museum hides a few details:
In a picture featuring some of the early employees at Shinra, when it was still a small arms manufacturer, a man can be spotted at the center wearing the mask of Shinra, a character from Final Fantasy X-2. This is a reference to the fact that FFX and FFX-2 are actually considered prequels of FFVII by both Kitase and Nojima, the latter having suggested that this President Shinra is actually the far descendant of Shinra from FFX-2 many years into the future, when the people of Spira became able to travel in space and left their planet to travel to another one, the planet of Gaia, slowly setting the stage for the events in FFVII
President Shinra's golden gun can be seen at the exhibition. The same gun model is used by him later in the scene where he threatens Barret
An image of mayor Domino shaking hands with President Shinra can be seen, likely the moment when power was handed over to the company. The trophy next to it reads "in special recognition to the Shinra Electric Power Company", with a signature by Domino below it
Domino and Hart (Hut in the Japanese version), just like in the original, are references to Domino's Pizza and Pizza Hut, referencing the rotten pizza slices that are the Midgar plates
In the stunning virtual sequence showcasing the story of the ancients, we get a glimpse at a recreation of a place they lived at. This architecture strongly resembles that of the capital of the Ancients visited later in the original
In the recreation room, Cloud encounters a former Shinra guard who recognizes him from the old days. He mentions he'll go grab Kunsel, who is a SOLDIER character from Crisis Core that was a friend of Zack
Taking the wrong path in the ventilation shaft will allow you to find a hidden materia, otherwise not seen as it is out of sight
Red XIII can be spotted in the boss fight arena before you leave the area, which will highlight him in a cutscene once you leave
Speaking of the drawing, it shows a beautiful rendition of (MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THE ORIGINAL ENDING) the Promised Land, with the flow of life showing the cetra, the humans, several animals and even some summons. At the center of it all lies a yellow flower, which the game states at a couple points being a symbol of "reunion". With the flowers obviously symbolizing Aerith herself as well, this reunion symbolism alludes to the ending of FFVII and the true nature of the Promised Land. Similarly, the flower appears to be warding off the meteor with the power of the lifestream, once again a reference to the final scene. This whole drawing depicts the game's ending with beautiful subtlety
A structure that resembles Cosmo Canyon observatory can also be seen in the drawing, so I wonder if Ifalna had somehow been there at some point?
Just like in the original, the 70 floors of the Shinra building are a reference to the number 7, cheekily used across the game in several instances (like sector 7 being where the main characters reside)
The communication machines used in Chapter 17 have PHS written on them, a reference to the PHS communication devices in the original game, used to swap playable characters
During his battle, Rufus tosses some coins up in the air. A close up of them in a shot reveals the writing "Shinra Inc. - A new era - Reign Supreme - Ever forward", symbolizing the new era started by Rufus
When Barret, Aerith and Red are surrounded, Barret says he's willing to sacrifice his life to let her escape. This is a nod to an early scrapped concept of the original FFVII where Barret was considered to sacrifice himself and die a heroic death, which was ultimately scrapped for a far more meaningful one. This is also referenced in the stairs sequence, when Barret begs to be given a last stand rather than having to deal with stairs
Both the motorbike and the truck Cloud and Tifa steal can be seen in Chapter 16 as you explore the Shinra HQ lobby
And that's most of them! Again, chapter 18 has a bunch of symbolism and foreshadowing too, but that's its own beast which I won't tackle here. Any other details I might have missed? Share them below so we can have a truly complete easter egg thread!
I recently saw this post by u/ajcaulfield on here, which inspired me to come up with some of my own carnival attractions and games! So here's what I got. Feel free to leave any suggestions, these haven't been mass-playtested yet and could maybe use some balancing. Games
Hot Hog Eating Contest
In what may be the first active use of a Constitution throw I could think of, I wanted to bring this classic fair game into DnD. I see two ways of running this, but both involve a Constitution Saving Throw or Skill Check (perhaps with proficiency if your PC is known to be a big eater?) Either you prepare a list with fixed DC to roll against, in which case it could be DC15 - third place DC18 - second place DC20 - first place or you leave things up to chance completely and roll a BUNCH of d20 for the number of participants involved. I suggest no more than 10 participants overall, so however many PCs enter + a number of d20 for other competitors. The highest roll then wins. The catch: Eating a bunch of Hot Hogs at once is not something everyone can stomach, literally. If you roll below a certain DC (I picked 10, because I imagine eating this much food would cause a LOT of people to get sick) will cause the participant to throw up and be disqualified from the competition.
Target Shooting Range
I got this idea from playing Paper Mario: Origami King and thought it was interesting, so I tried to translate it into DnD. In Origami King, there is a shuriken shooting range in which you have one minute to amass exactly 21 points. No more, no less. There are targets with positive values and targets with negative values on them. You have to make strategical decisions when to hit what target, because your shooter has a delay. My idea for translating this into DnD: You have 10 rounds to amass the 21 points and 10 arrows/shuriken/wha thave you. Each round there are four targets to be hit: 1d4 and 1d6 with positive value and 1d4 and 1d6 with negative value. Every round a ranged weapon attack with (weapon you choose to equip this range with, I chose bow and arrow) can be made in order to hit one of the four targets. The catch: To hit a target successfully, a DC of 10 must be surpassed. If the participant rolls a nat 1, they hit one of the other three targets, at the DMs disgression. There is a bunch of luck involved, but it's manageable to do in 10 rounds, and when are carnival games ever not about luck over actual skill?
Slot Machine
Not gonna lie, I just liked the idea of a one-armed bandit incorporated into the dice throwing system somehow, so here's what I got: 3d8 are rolled for a line-up. I'm running my carnival with prize-tickets, but I guess it would work just as well with GP. If you're playing DnD, you're already into some sort of gambling anyways, so why not? Output: 2 same digits - double the number of eyes in GP (or 1 festival ticket) 3 adjacent digits (like 4,5,6) - triple the number of eyes in GP (or 3 festival ticket) 3 same digits - 10x the number of eyes in GP (or 5 festival tickets) Lucky 777 - 500GP (or 20 festival tickets) Other Attractions
Ferris Wheel, Carousel, Steamtrain-Rollercoaster
Depending on how technologically advanced your setting is, all of these are a must-have for a bigger carnival or town fair. When riding any of these, have your players roll a Con Save (if they've already been on any of the other attractions or have participated in the Hot Hog Eating Contest, with disadvantage) to see if they get sick. For Ferris Wheel and Carousel I suggest a DC7, for the Rollercoaster maybe something higher like a DC12.
House of Mirrors
Another classic fair attraction that I think could make for fun shenanigans. Have your players roll a Perception or Survival check to successfully navigate the house. You could even incorporate a race similar to the hot hog eating competition, where the highest roll wins the race. Oh, and also if you roll a Perception DC20+, you might just find that jester who's been trapped in one of the mirrors and might like to be rescued some time.
Haunted House
The easiest to pull of in a magical fantasy setting, since you can just put in real ghosts and undead, and no one will be any the wiser! Unless if course, they fail their Wisdom Saving Throw with a 1, then they might get attacked by the real deal. If they don't beat the DC12, they'll get a good scare out of it at the very least and become Frightened by the house.
Food Stall
My players are very stingy with their money, so to trick them into both spending some coin and also actually participating in any of the games and attractions, I made my entire fair run on those festival tickets that I mentioned earlier. If they don't want to win prizes, at least the food will make them go for some of the games. Popcorn - 5 tickets Cotton Candy - 5 tickets Ice Cream - 5 tickets Fried potatoes - 8 tickets Magic Jelly Bean - 20 tickets
Magic Jelly Beans?
Oh yeah, those are a thing. I came up with a table of random things to happen when you eat one of those. Mostly harmless things, like your skin becoming purple or your breath becoming minty, to beneficial things like temporary advantages on skill checks, to more negative results like being shocked by electricity, spontaneous combustion, or just straight up death. The thing is, the more beans you eat, the more likely you are to receive the cool benefits as well as your chance of death by candy. I have a d20 table with effects prepared which is rolled the first time someone eats a jelly bean. Then the die is reduced to a d12 for the second bean eaten, d10 for the third, and so on, until eventually there is a 25% chance of death when eating a jelly bean, but also a 50% chance of something incredibly cool happening. Who's up for some Russian Roulette? So, yeah. This is the stuff I came up with. I'm happy to hear any feedback or suggestions!
Good morning from the UK. It’s Wednesday 22nd April and today also marks the 50th Earth Day.
Virus news in depth
Air pollution falls by unprecedented levels in major global cities during coronavirus lockdowns - CNN reports that lockdowns restricting travel and industry imposed to halt the spread of coronavirus have resulted in unprecedented reductions in deadly air pollution around the world, new analysis shows. Major cities that suffer from the world's worst air pollution have seen reductions of deadly particulate matter by up to 60% from the previous year, during a three-week lockdowns period. The Indian capital New Delhi -- which frequently tops the world's most polluted city lists -- saw a 60% reduction in PM2.5 levels from March 23 to April 13 from the same period in 2019. Both New Delhi and the country's commercial center Mumbai experienced their best March air quality on record in 2020. During the initial three-week lockdown period, the number of hours rated as "unhealthy" in New Delhi dropped from 68% in 2019 to 17% in 2020. Over the course of Wuhan's 10-week lockdown, the city experienced its cleanest air quality on record for the months of February and March. The average concentration of PM2.5 plunged from 63.2 and 43.9 micrograms per cubic meter in February and March 2019 respectively, to 36.8 and 32.9 in the same months this year. The World Health Organization considers anything above 25 to be unsafe. Ramadan in a time of plague: 'The best thing is to stay home, stay quiet' - The Guardian points out that the holy month of Ramadan is scheduled to start this week; the ongoing spread of Covid-19 poses unique questions for Muslims around the world, including whether they can access their mosque to pray, whether fasting is still required during a time of plague and whether they can travel home to visit friends and family (such visits are few and far between for many). Many mosques will be closed, the article says including the Ka’bah, the gold-embroidered shrine in Mecca’s Grand Mosque, as well as the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina and Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque. Abdullah Abu Galous, a 38-year-old hardware shop owner from the Palestinian city of Ramallah, said it felt as if Ramadan had been cancelled. “I would never have thought that a tiny virus could stop us from celebrating the month of Ramadan. It has held more than one billion Muslims throughout the world hostage,” he said. Meanwhile, several Arab newspapers have carried expert assurances that fasting has not been shown to reduce resistance to the virus. Al-Azhar, Egypt’s top Sunni mosque, said last week that coronavirus could not be used as an excuse not to participate unless it was scientifically established that drinking water helps to ward off the disease.
Virus news in brief

Australia will partially reopen Bondi Beach for swimming and surfing on April 28, authorities announced Wednesday. Paula Masselos, the mayor of Waverley, said access will be provided for surfers and ocean swimmers between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. All land-based activities on the beach like jogging, sunbathing and gathering socially is still suspended.
North Korean state media on Wednesday made no mention of leader Kim Jong Un’s health or whereabouts, a day after intense international speculation over his health was sparked by media reports he was gravely ill after a cardiovascular procedure. On Wednesday, the main headlines from KCNA included pieces on sports equipment, mulberry picking, and a meeting in Bangladesh to study North Korea’s “juche” or self-reliance ideology. The official Rodong Sinmun newspaper carried older or undated remarks attributed to Kim in articles about the economy, the textile industry, city development, and other topics. Trump’s national security adviser, Robert O’Brien, told Fox News the White House was monitoring the reports “very closely”. (Reuters link)
The Indian Council of Medical Research has advised all states to discontinue the usage of rapid test kits for the next two days after some of them were revealed to be defective. The council is sending teams to validate kits already in use so they can assess which ones are faulty and trace them back to the manufacturers. Raman R Gangakhedkar, the head of the council, said positive samples were showing "too much variation" and required investigating. The rapid testing kits were deployed in India last week. The health ministry has repeatedly said that the kits should be used only for surveillance and to determine epidemiological trends.
The French minister of labour, Muriel Pénicaud, has said more than 10 million workers have signed up for the country’s temporary unemployment scheme. That means around 40% of France’s working population has signed up for the scheme, designed to avoid mass lay offs by allowing companies to put staff on reduced or zero hours while the government pays all or most of their wages.
The number of patients admitted to intensive care in France has declined for the 13th consecutive day, Jerome Salomon, the director of France's health agency, announced on Tuesday.
The Netherlands will extend its lockdown for most businesses until May 20 and ban large events until September 1, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said during a news conference on Tuesday. “As much as I understand that impatience is creeping in, we know that a rapid easing could lead to the virus immediately getting the chance to peak again,” Rutte said. The uncertainty is still “too large” for businesses that require close contact, like barbers and nail salons, he said. Primary students will begin attending school in a staggered fashion starting May 11.
The government has missed opportunities to secure at least 16m face masks for NHS staff in the past four weeks, amid growing frustration from companies who say Britain is losing much-needed equipment to other countries. As ministers faced relentless questions over a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) in hospitals, suppliers said their offers to deliver UK-standard face masks were being met with silence from the government. And on another day of chaos over the government’s PPE procurement, a senior civil servant said that its decision to stay out of a joint EU scheme was politically motivated. However he was ordered to clarify his claim within hours after he was contradicted by the health secretary, Matt Hancock. Adding to the confusion, Hancock claimed that the UK had now joined the scheme – only for EU sources to note that that had happened recently so Britain would not benefit from the supplies of emergency equipment. As new figures revealed that care home fatalities had quadrupled over the last week and as another 823 deaths were announced, the government faced further acute pressure over difficulties securing protective gear for hospitals and care homes.
The top official at Britain’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday that he expected Prime Minister Boris Johnson to stick to the existing end of December deadline to reach a post-Brexit trade deal with the European Union. The government has repeatedly insisted it has no plans to extend the post-Brexit transition arrangements due to end on Dec. 31, despite the coronavirus pandemic which has hit Britain and much of Europe hard and disrupted negotiations. Asked by a lawmaker whether this deadline was still realistic, Simon McDonald, permanent under secretary and head of the diplomatic service at the foreign ministry, said it was “clearly an option” to extend the transition period. “But the government’s attachment to that deadline is equally clear,” he told parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. Both sides would have to agree by the end of June to extend the period by one or two years. The British parliament has passed a law ruling that out. (Personal note: This is really unhelpful. It’s bad enough trying to cope with Covid-19 supply chain disruption; I’ve got no time to prepare for Brexit disruption right now and I’m sure many other companies don’t either).
All of the UK’s biggest airlines and most big holiday companies are systematically breaking the law by denying timely refunds to customers for travel cancelled during the pandemic, researchers have found. Consumer groups have warned that the sector risks permanently losing public confidence in booking travel, with Which? finding 20 of the UK’s largest operators are illegally withholding refunds that should be paid within 14 days. Most have instead offered vouchers or credit notes, and customers have complained they have been unable to obtain refunds online or get through to make a claim on the phone.
A leading US public health official warned on Tuesday that a new wave of coronavirus hitting the US next winter could be “even more difficult” for America to deal with than the current outbreak.
New York state identified and received federal government approval for eight facilities for use as temporary field hospitals, CNN previously reported. However, as of Tuesday, not all are needed or in use at this time, according to a state government administration official. If the need for hospital beds or facilities spikes then “we’re ready to re-engage with our federal partners,” the official said. But while new construction has stopped on temporary field hospitals, Cuomo said he is not ready to stop those projects completely. “We stopped any new construction when we saw the rates starting to stabilize but I’m not ready to close anything down yet, either,” Cuomo said Tuesday night. “Now you have some health experts, CDC today starts to warn about an outbreak in the fall, I don’t even want to think about that yet.”
In what could be the first lawsuit filed by a state against China, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the Chinese government over the loss of life and economic consequences in Missouri from the coronavirus, according to a statement from Schmitt’s office. The lawsuit was filed against the Chinese government, Chinese Communist Party and other Chinese institutions accusing the government of suppressing information, arresting whistleblowers and denying the "contagious nature" of Covid-19, leading to severe consequences in Missouri.
Andy Slavitt (previous runner of Medicaid and Medicare under the Obama Administration) issues a daily twitter thread which is often fascinating. Tuesday’s is here. He talks about José Ramón Andrés Puerta who is a Spanish-American chef and founder of World Central Kitchen, a non-profit devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. At present 40m Americans are at risk of going hungry and the number is likely to rise. Plenty of food is coming out of the ground but it can’t get distributed and food banks don’t have adequate refrigeration (Personal note: If you can, please keep donating to food banks everyone). A lack of refrigeration can turn food banks into Snackfood Banks while fresh food sits in the ground and that’s not good for anyone. A bill that’s just passed in the Senate will provide $3bn for food banks but Slavitt thinks it needs to be close to $30bn and that the $16bn in farmer subsidies will bypass many small farmers. Meanwhile, Chef is catering for 250,000 people every day by keeping 496 restaurants open and paying them between $6 & $10/meal for people. He’s also feeding people in 400 hospitals, bringing in shipments of N-95 masks & full protection gear and then distributing masks & equipment to hospitals.
In the Brazilian city of Manaus, the capital of the northwestern state of Amazonas, excavators are digging mass graves, which are later filled with several coffins by cemetery workers, according to CNN affiliate CNN Brasil. The city is handling more than 100 burials a day due to coronavirus, according to the office of Manaus Mayor Arthur Virgilio Neto. Before the spread of the disease, the average was 30 burials a day. The department responsible for burials in the city started to dig trenches to carry out the burials of Covid-19 victims. This practice is used by other countries and preserves the identities of the bodies, with distance between the coffins and the respective identifications.

No takers: Hyundai cars sit in U.S. ports as virus keeps buyers away - While Hyundai is one of few global automakers whose production has recovered at home, its exports optimism has been dampened by the severity of the U.S. outbreak, weak consumer sentiment and as rivals have quickly moved to guard their turf. Consignments of cars shipped from South Korea are now sitting in U.S. ports, with dealers slow to take deliveries because of slumping sales and rising inventory, four people with knowledge of the matter told Reuters. The company idled a Tucson production line at home last week for five days, while sister firm Kia Motors (000270.KS) is looking to suspend three Korean plants for a week. And analysts now expect a sharp drop in first-quarter operating profit when it reports results on Thursday and some even forecast a second-quarter loss. “I hope that the situation will recover by the middle of next month. If not, we might have to lay off some people,” said Brad Cannon, general manager of an exclusive Hyundai dealership in California, whose sales are down more than 50% from when the pandemic started. Hyundai runs a factory in Alabama - which is closed until May 1 - but imports are key to meet U.S. demand. Only about half of its vehicles sold in the United States are made in North America compared to between 68% and 85% for Japanese rivals Toyota Motor (7203.T), Nissan Motor (7201.T) and Honda Motor (7267.T), who have also suspended production there till May. The South Korean company makes about 61% of its cars overseas, up from 48% a decade ago. That leaves it vulnerable to overseas factory shutdowns and shrinking demand outside of its home market. Coronavirus pandemic 'will cause famine of biblical proportions' - The Guardian quotes the chief of the UN’s food relief agency who has said that the world is facing widespread famine “of biblical proportions” because of the coronavirus pandemic and that there is only a short time to act before hundreds of millions starve. More than 30 countries in the developing world could experience widespread famine, and in 10 of those countries there are already more than 1 million people on the brink of starvation, said David Beasley, executive director of the World Food Programme. “We are not talking about people going to bed hungry,” he told the Guardian in an interview. “We are talking about extreme conditions, emergency status – people literally marching to the brink of starvation. If we don’t get food to people, people will die.” Covid-19 is likely to be sweeping through the developing world but its spread is hard to gauge. What appears to be certain is that the fragile healthcare systems of scores of developing countries will be unable to cope, and the economic disaster following in the wake of the pandemic will lead to huge strain on resources. “This is truly more than just a pandemic – it is creating a hunger pandemic,” said Beasley. “This is a humanitarian and food catastrophe.” Beasley took his message to the UN security council on Tuesday, warning world leaders that they must act quickly in a fast-deteriorating situation. He urged them to bring forward about $2bn (£1.6bn) of aid that has been pledged, so it can get to the frontline as quickly as possible. Another $350m (£285m) is also needed to set up the logistics network to get food and medical supplies – including personal protective equipment – to where it is needed, including air bridges where ground transport is impossible.
Supply chain news in brief
Egypt on Tuesday flew a plane of medical supplies to the United States to assist in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, a role reversal for a top US aid recipient. Egypt’s general-turned-president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, has been eager to cement relations with President Donald Trump, and his country has already shipped medical goods with fanfare to China and Italy. A video statement from Sisi’s office showed crates in wrapping that read in English and Arabic, “From the Egyptian people to the American people,” being loaded into a military cargo plane.
The Gold industry is struggling to find slots on what little airfreight capacity is available to ship its metal to refineries reports supplychainbrian. Producers typically rely on regular airline services to ferry mined metal — called dore — from remote operations to the specialist plants that separate out the precious metals and craft them into bars or coins. That’s becoming more difficult with a large swathe of global aircraft grounded, including about two-thirds of the passenger jet fleet, according to Cirium, an airline industry data provider. “Where we’ve had to be doing more work is getting dore — the metal — to market,” said Tom Palmer, chief executive officer of Newmont Mining Corp., the world’s biggest gold producer. “Typically dore travels on commercial airliners, so it’s been about finding alternative paths to get that dore to refineries around the world.” Newmont is competing to secure slots for its shipments on the small number of remaining commercial flights, Palmer said last week. “The other work is around identifying how we can charter aircraft — how we work with some other companies to team up and share a charter load.”
SpiceJet, India’s biggest air cargo operator, operated its first freighter flight to Myanmar today, April 21, carrying medical supplies to the country. On its return leg, the aircraft will carry medical equipment from Myanmar to India’s capital, Delhi. The airline also operated its maiden cargo-on-seat international flight from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi carrying 15 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables and ensuring that the supply chain for our farmers remains intact. Stat Times reports that with global air freight capacity declining, Qatar Airways Cargo has increased operations to ensure the continuity of global trade and movement of essential medical and aid supplies. The airline continues to operate a significant cargo schedule with almost 100 flights per day, during the past month the cargo operator has worked closely with governments and NGOs to transport over 70,000 tonnes of medical and aid supplies to impacted regions around the world on both scheduled and charter services, the equivalent of roughly 500 fully loaded Boeing 777 freighters. To continue to fulfil demand the Group’s cargo division is also utilising passenger aircraft to carry freight-only to destinations in China, Europe, India and the Middle East.
Virgin Atlantic Cargo has become the first British airline to resume scheduled services to China, operating three flights a week from Heathrow Airport to Shanghai says Stat Times. The cargo capacity on two of the three times weekly Boeing 787-9 flights from China will be used exclusively by the UK Department of Health and Social Care to increase deliveries of Personal Protective Equipment and medical supplies for front-line NHS staff says Stat Times. (Personal Note - Whether there’s a link between Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Care which has lots of contracts with the NHS is unclear. Both companies are part owned by Richard Branson).
Heineken, the world's second-largest brewer, reported a 14% slide in beer sales in March, with sharp declines in all regions as the COVID-19 pandemic closed pubs and restaurants across the globe. In some countries, such as South Africa, the Dutch brewer was forced to shut down production. In France, Italy and Spain, increased beer sales in stores failed to compensate for the collapse of bar trade. The maker of Heineken, Tiger and Sol beers, and Strongbow cider, said first-quarter net profit fell by 68% to €94 million euros, the company said on Wednesday. Beer volumes fell 2.1% in the quarter while overall volumes, including cider and soft drinks, fell 3.9%, confirming guidance given two weeks ago. The second quarter would be worse, Heineken said, with an impact also in the second half of the year as lockdowns may be lifted but the impact on the economy endured. The company said the lack of clarity on the impact of COVID-19 meant the company has withdrawn all guidance for 2020. Source: ESM Magazine
Splash247 reports that India has taken moves to get crew to and from ships on local shores with pressure now growing on the government to make similar repatriation moves overseas. The country’s Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a standard operating procedures (SOP) to make coronavirus testing mandatory for Indian crews coming in or out of a port in the country as part of its relaxation measures during the coronavirus lockdown.
Freightwaves is warning of a “staggering” drop in volumes in May and June for US ports, rail and truck operators. According to Copenhagen-based Sea-Intelligence, 435 deep-sea sailings have been “blanked” (canceled) through this past Sunday as carriers retune service levels to coronavirus-reduced demand. This equates to a loss of 7 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of container capacity to Europe and the U.S. Further cancellations were announced after the Sea-Intelligence report was released, including sailings by the 2M Alliance (Maersk, MSC) and Hapag-Lloyd. That, in turn, will translate into lower trucking and rail volumes to the extent lost seaborne imports are not offset by higher volumes across land borders, by air, or from domestic producers, warehouses and distribution centers. Some container ship departure cancellations extend out until the end of July. It takes around 14-22 days for a container ship to transit from China to Los Angeles or Long Beach, California; it can take around 30-40 days for a transit from Asia to East Coast ports. The net result is that 13% of trans-Pacific sailings to the U.S. departing the week of April 6-13 have been canceled and he share of canceled sailings rose to 20% in April 13-19 and is 28% in April 20-26, 21% in April 27-May 3 and 26% in May 3-9. Tack on two to six weeks to those dates for transits and a significant decline in U.S. imports in May and June is guaranteed.
ESM Magazine reports that agriculture and food ministers from the Group of 20 countries have agreed at a virtual meeting that emergency measures to stop the spread of the new coronavirus must not upend global food supply chains. Their extraordinary meeting came as coronavirus lockdowns across the world slow global food supply chains, leaving some farmers unable to get their produce to consumers and major producing countries restricting exports. A senior World Bank official, Mari Pangestu, also warned at Tuesday's meeting against import barriers and export restrictions, urging global cooperation to avert food crises. The G20 ministers said they would guard against any measures leading to excessive food price volatility in global markets or that threaten food supply. Staple grain supplies are plentiful globally but some producing countries have indicated they would limit their sales abroad to prioritise domestic supply. The limitations come as major food importers strive to beef up their own reserves by upping purchases from abroad. Russia, the world's largest wheat exporter, said last week it would suspend grain exports to July 1 once an export quota it had set of 7 million tonnes was exhausted, an event now likely to happen in mid-May.
Bloomberg: Malaysia (which has 65% of the global market share in medical gloves) expects to ship as many as 240 billion gloves this year, up from 182 billion last year. Dozens of companies, most clustered in industrial cities near Kuala Lumpur, turn out over 200 billion single gloves every year, destined for doctor’s offices and hospitals all over the world. The sector has grown steadily since the 1980s, in tandem with more stringent hygiene standards in the developed world and improving medical services in China, India, and other emerging economies. Top Glove - a leader in the industry - has seen its share price jump by 45% so far this year, but the article warns that labour abuse issues are prevalent across the industry causing some Western country companies to launch investigations. It’s possible given heavy demand during the pandemic that some stakeholders may look the other way on abuses whilst the pandemic runs its course. (link)

Taxi driver takes stranded student from Spain to Italy free of charge - CNN reports that an Italian student stranded in Spain due to the coronavirus crisis has been driven more than 1,500 kilometers home, free of charge by a taxi driver. Driver Kepa Amantegi, 22, drove Giada Collalto, also 22, from Bilbao, Spain, to Montebello, near Venice, Italy, after a series of unfortunate events left her stuck. Collalto's struggle to find a way back home included hours on the internet and phone calls with the Italian embassy. She managed to purchase a plane ticket from Madrid to Paris, then to Rome and finally to Venice. But on April 8, she found herself navigating more restrictions at the airport of the Spanish capital Madrid, where a flight attendant informed her she wasn't permitted to board. "I was desperate and angry, my parents were worried but couldn't do anything to help me. I called the embassy and they told to me to send an email. All hotels in Madrid were closed, no public transport to go back to Bilbao," she added. A friend of hers knew a taxi driver in Bilbao -- Amantegi -- and contacted him. "He immediately said he was available to come to pick me up and he drove nine hours from Bilbao to Madrid and back," Collalto said. But once she was back in Bilbao, she learned her apartment was no longer available. Amantegi offered to host Collalto in his family home for the night. "I insisted on paying him but he said, 'I don't want to get advantage of you, I see you are in a difficult situation, don't worry about the cost'," Collalto said, adding Amantegi only asked for a reimbursement of expenses for picking her up in Madrid. Suppose I am a spell caster in 5e who "sells" his spell slots. An NPC or player could request a specific spell and - if prepared - my caster will cast it for them for a sum of money. The question is, how much is a spell slot worth? Obviously we can calculate the cost of the spell components, so let's ignore that factor for now. There are lots of casters, each with their own variable amount of spell slots, so we will assume this is for a standard wizard. Additionally, other modifiers such as how many spells slots a caster has left, hazard pay, and ethical concerns will not be factored in. Finally, we will assume that a spell slot will be worth the same regardless of a wizards level and only the spell level matters. A 9th-level Wish can create an item worth 25,000 gp, so working backwards we can *roughly* estimate that a spell slot is worth 2,777.8 gp per level - but that can't be right. A level 1 spell worth nearly 3k gold? That can't be right. If we factor in that level 1 spells can be cast 4 times more often each day than a 9th level, and there's a 33% chance you can never cast wish again, we can divide that amount by 12 and get a much more reasonable value of a level 1 spell slot being worth 231 gp. That's still rather high, so I'm not convinced this is an accurate method of gauging spell value. So, we can conclude this suggests the value of spell slots is not 1 to 1 to the spell level. Searching around produced [this](http://5e.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/equipment.htm#spellcastingServices) , which someone linked in a similar question. This suggests limiting spell services to level 1 or 2 spells, with anything higher requiring a quest, service, or favor instead of coin. This partially answers my question by providing a floor for spell value: level 1 spells are worth 10 gp, and level 2 spells are worth 50 gp. This gives us 3 data points - level 1, 2, and 9 spell slots. We can fit this to an exp^2 curve (I know, not a perfect fit, but it should give us a reasonable gauge of what a spell might be worth) and math tells us spells are valued accordingly:
1 - 10 gp
2 - 50 gp
3 - 211 gp
4 - 733 gp
5 - 2,130 gp
6 - 5,165 gp
7 - 10,461 gp
8 - 17,699 gp
9 - 25,000 gp
If we divide the upper limit of 25,000 by 3 (to account for Wish's stress chance), then the spell value would look more akin to:
1 - 10 gp
2 - 50 gp
3 - 199 gp
4 - 644 gp
5 - 1,669 gp
6 - 3,470 gp
7 - 5,791 gp
8 - 7,754 gp
9 - 8,333 gp
The curve doesn't fit quite as nicely for this spread, but the values are a lot lower. Notably, the value begins dropping off towards the end, and the difference in cost between the higher-level spells isn't as high. Furthermore, this absolutely does not account for cantrips, which are valued at 0 gp with this method. 3.5e had a much more rigid list of how much spell services were worth, which unfortunately are dependent upon the casters level. The values are listed as:
0 - Caster level × 5 gp (5-100 gp)
1 - Caster level × 10 gp (10-200 gp)
2 - Caster level × 20 gp (60-400 gp)
3 - Caster level × 30 gp (150-600 gp)
4 - Caster level × 40 gp (280-800 gp)
5 - Caster level × 50 gp (450-1,000 gp)
6 - Caster level × 60 gp (660-1,200 gp)
7 - Caster level × 70 gp (910-1,400 gp)
8 - Caster level × 80 gp (1,200-1,600 gp)
9 - Caster level × 90 gp (1,530-1,800 gp)
I'm not particularly fond of this method, since a cantrip can cost anywhere from 5 gp to 100. It's more reliable at higher levels, placing a 9th level spell slot at anywhere from 1,530 to 1,800...but this strikes me as phenomenally cheap for a 9th level. It does, however, benefit from being mostly linear and simpler to gauge cost. I have no idea how accurate this spread is, or which spread would be the most reliable. Comparing spells to the value of similar magical items doesn't really work; the Wand of Magic Missiles, for example, is 7 charges of Magic Missile (level 1 spell) and costs 8k gp. While this would suggest a level 1 spell is worth 1,142 gp, it doesn't take into account these are essentially "free" spell slots...and charging 1k per level 1 spell is quite frankly ridiculous. I was wondering if anyone had a better metric for judging the gp value of a spell slot? This is all a rough estimation based mostly on conjecture and shady math. Edit: I had some broken formatting

Trading Parts and Cars in the Shop - A Complete Guide
Due to the recent events regarding the virus and social distancing, I have spent quite some time on the game during the past month. I think the best feature of the game is the trading market - it is the only way two players can interact with each other by buying and selling some of their goods. It is also one of four ways you can earn coins (the other three being servicing cars, truck orders, and ship exports). I have been an avid fan of it since I unlocked it at level 9, and today, 40 levels later, I am still using it. IMO, many players do not know how to utilize the trading market effectively. They simply press the "max" button and list their items. All items will still be sold - the game takes care of that - but you waste a slot on your market that could have been utilized if your item was sold at a fairer price. This will earn you more in the future because the item gets sold much quicker. This is a comprehensive list of all the items that I have unlocked, along with the recommended selling method that will be the most efficient. Should you max it out? Keep it at base price? Lower the price? This chart will tell you. Of course, if you just want the money, max everything and leave it. However, this chart will help you in buying the best deals as well. Please remember that this is simply my opinion. You are free to interpret it however you like. Key: (dollars are coins) B = Base Price (ex. titanium is $16, engine block is $25, etc.) M = Max price < B = Less than base price > B = Above base price (but less than max price) - this will often include a %markup If the product is in bold, you shouldn't sell them.
Part
Recommended Price
Why / How?
Example
Bolt / Nut Rivet / Terminal / Adhesive / Plastic
B or < B
They do not take long to make, and you can make many at once.
4 plastic for $25
Antifreeze / Titanium / Neon
> B (20-30% markup)
Most of it is used for upgrading cars.
6 antifreeze for $95
Carbon Fiber
> B (40-50% markup)
In my experience, this gets sold much quicker and at higher prices than, say, neon.
6 carbon fiber for $119
Fabric
> B (50-75% markup)
It takes quite long to make, and it makes seats, which are used a lot in car upgrades.
3 fabric for $100
Lubricant / Chrome
> B (80 - 95% markup)
Both take long to make, and they rarely used - only needed in specific car upgrades and the service center or ship export.
5 chrome for $237
Sheet Metal / Battery Set / Block Mold
B or > B (1 - 10% markup)
All these are specific to making one type of product, and they do not take long to make.
9 battery set for $75
Tubing / Glass Mold / Circuit Board
> B (15 - 30% markup)
They make products that people buy at high prices (there is more value in selling the thing it makes)
6 glass mold for $125
Door Frame / Hood / Bumper / Spoiler
M
All of them are used very frequently in upgrading, servicing, and making cars.
2 spoilers for $208
Headlights / Radio / Control Panel / ECU
M
All of them are used very frequently in upgrading, servicing, and making cars.
4 radios for $296
Gas Pedal / E-brake / Steering Wheel / Seat
M
All of them are used very frequently in ... you get the idea.
Gear Shift / Power Steering / Cruise Control / Torque Limiter
M
You see where I'm going? Most of the items with only 1 plant should be maxed.
3 gear shift for $648
Rubber
-
You shouldn't sell them because you won't have extras... →
... it takes longer to make rubber than it does to make a tire.
All-Season Tire / Racing Tire
M or > B (80 - 99% markup)
Not many players are above this level. Even if you sell it at a fair price, not many people will be able to see it - so just make the price high and Henry will buy it.
4 all-season tires for $435
Air Conditioning / Radiator
M or > B (75 - 99% markup)
Same as above. Also, I don't recommend maxing it, because it loses what little appeal it had to start with.
4 radiators for $777
Body Frame / Engine Block / Battery / Glass
-
Open up the shop, and you can always find about 3-6 offers of the same thing at various prices... →
... I would only sell them if you need the storage space - and the quicker you want it sold, the lower the price.
Exhaust
> B (30 - 60% markup)
Needed in a surprisingly large number of upgrades and products - and not often sold on the market.
6 exhaust for $222
Computer Chip
M or > B (80 - 99% markup)
It takes quite long to make, and it is used to make ECU, which is used in upgrades and assemblies.
2 computer chips for $115
Axe / Chainsaw / Jackhammer
> B (50 - 90 % markup)
Usually the only ones who buy these are lower leveled players who need to clear trees to place shops.
1 axe for $30
Water Pump
M
Don't bother trying to negotiate. No one will buy them. Max it out and go. Conversely, look out for people who sell them at < B, because you can buy them and make a quick profit.
3 water pumps for $324
Rivet / Beam / Tarp
M
There is always going to be someone who wants to expand their storage to the next level - since it is a random drop, you might as well gain max coins from it.
2 beams for $540
Hard Hat / Cabling / Wheelbarrow
M
^ the same idea.
3 hard hats for $1209
You may be wondering about the cars. Well, the only place to use a car is in the truck order and the ship export. As a result, they are items that are bought on the spot, not planned for (most of the time you would rather buy the cars than wait a couple hours to make them - assuming you even have the parts for it). As a result, if you want as much money as you can get, then you should max out the cars. You may be wondering about the cars. As a result, if you want as much money as you can get, then you should max out the cars. However, we all know the usual suspects in that always pop up in the shop. Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport, Nissan Sentra SR Turbo, Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454, etc. If you want to be efficient, then those are the cars you should sell at a marked up price - around 50 to 75%. This way, you stand a higher chance of being bought because you sell the cars at a cheaper price. This will free up your slot and you can sell more items.
