“The Canadian Epstein” — Disgraced fashion mogul Peter Nygard's own SON is helping police investigate his alleged sex crimes
Disgraced fashion mogul Peter Nygard's own SON is helping police investigate his alleged sex crimes By Guy Adams Investigates For The Daily Mail 15 Jan 2021 Link to article 'He has become my arch-nemesis. I no longer regard him as my father . . . He is a monster. I am now here to serve in any way I can, to support survivors and the justice process and also to help expose the people who covered up his crimes.' Kai Bickle's world came tumbling down one night in May 2019, when he attended a dinner party at a lavishly decorated mansion overlooking the golden sands of Venice Beach in Los Angeles. The host was his father, Peter Nygard, a Canadian fashion tycoon famed for the hedonistic lifestyle he pursued at a global portfolio of high-end properties, including vast residences in Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal, as well as New York, and, most notoriously, a Mayan-themed 'private luxury resort' in the Bahamas. Modelling himself on Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, the flamboyant Nygard, now 79, kept a revolving harem of girlfriends. Those caught up (often completely unwittingly) in this web had included actresses Susan Anton and Jennifer O'Neill, stripper-turned-reality star Anna Nicole Smith, and a former Wheel Of Fortune card turner by the name of Vanna White. His Caribbean parties, meanwhile, tended to attract a better class of A-lister. Past visitors to the island property had ranged from Jane Seymour and Bo Derek to Robert De Niro, , Michael Jackson and Joan Collins, not to mention and , who were photographed there in the early 2000s on an innocuous family holiday. The 2019 bash, during one of Peter's occasional business trips to LA, was to be a more down-to-earth affair. Roughly 20 guests, including Kai, 38, and his younger brother Jessar (one of roughly ten offspring Nygard has fathered via more than seven women) had been invited for food and drinks, followed by a late-night poker game. That was the plan, at least. But Kai never made it to the card- table. Instead, he fled the lavish premises in a state of distress, shortly after dinner, believing that he had just witnessed his father attempting to sexually assault an eight-year-old girl. Details of this ugly development are (it should be stressed) strongly disputed, and we shall examine them later. But the incident would kick-start an extraordinary chain of events that culminated just before Christmas, with the arrest of Peter Nygard on nine charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Currently behind bars, with his $900 million (£660 million) business empire in tatters and the FBI poring over his computer hard-drives, the fallen tycoon has now been accused of rape or sexual assault by at least 57 women. Several of Nygard's accusers were children when the alleged crimes took place, and many claim they were drugged. At least 57 women have accused him. He will appear in court in Canada next week, seeking bail as he fights extradition to the USA. It is, perhaps, the most high-profile and shocking sex case since handcuffs were slapped on Jeffrey Epstein. And in a remarkable twist, it turns out that a leading figure in the increasingly public campaign to prosecute Mr Nygard is his aforementioned son, Kai. Upcoming documentary: ‘Unseamly’ Canadian Designer Peter Nygård True Crime Documentary Behind the scenes, I can reveal that Kai has spent the past 18 months secretly helping both the U.S. and Canadian authorities investigate his own father's alleged crimes. Keeping his role hidden from Nygard and his associates for several months, he has worked tirelessly to assist victims, and their legal teams. On the personal front, he has changed his name (taking up his mother's surname to become Kai Zen Bickle) and used his influence over various Nygard companies to block efforts to move his assets offshore, fearing that would allow him to flee. 'We have been engaged in a brutal battle against my father and his enablers,' is how Kai summed things up when we spoke this week. 'He has become my arch-nemesis. I no longer regard him as my father . . . He is a monster. I am now here to serve in any way I can, to support survivors and the justice process and also to help expose the people who covered up his crimes.' Perhaps most remarkably of all, Kai recently helped two of his younger siblings, one of whom remains a minor, to sue Peter Nygard over claims he 'engineered' the rape of his own sons. In an extraordinary lawsuit filed in August, the boys claimed that their leathery, multi-millionaire father instructed one of his long-standing girlfriends (who was also a sex worker) to 'make a man' out of them. The first of these alleged attacks (which, again, are vehemently denied by Nygard) took place in the Bahamas 2004, when the son was 15 and the woman was in her mid-20s. The second occurred in Winnipeg in 2018, when the younger child was 14 and the woman was in her 40s. Court papers filed by the boys stated that the unnamed girlfriend was instructed to seduce Nygard's son by showering in his bathroom so that he 'could see her naked'. Then she raped him. Afterwards, she allegedly told the boy he 'wasn't bad' for a 'baby.' The next morning, Nygard's girlfriend brought him breakfast in bed, kissing him on the lips and announcing: 'Mommy's got you.' Kai says he first became aware of this appalling incident last spring, and was 'sickened' to hear his brothers' claims. He would often yell and scream at his staff. 'We all spoke and decided the best course of action was to file a lawsuit publicly in the hope that other survivors would feel safe to come forward and also file criminally against Nygard,' he says. 'We were originally going to have me in the suit as my young brother's guardian, but in the end decided not to because it would reveal to Nygard that I was working against him . . . At the time I was [secretly] doing everything I could to improve the odds that he would get arrested.' To appreciate the extraordinary journey taken by Kai, we must wind the clock back to the mid-1980s, when his father was one of Canada's most talked-about self-made millionaires. The son of penniless immigrants from Finland, Peter Nygard had launched his empire in the late 1960s, with an $8,000 (£6,000) investment in a struggling fashion firm. By the time he was 30, the company had become one of North America's most successful suppliers of leisure and sportswear, while his flamboyant eccentricities, which included keeping parrots in his office and filling the lobby of Nygard HQ with bronze busts of himself, turned him into an object of public fascination. In 1987, the party-loving entrepreneur purchased a 4.5-acre patch of the island of New Providence in the Bahamas and set about turning it into a 'dream home' where he could indulge his champagne lifestyle. Over the ensuing years, he built 150,000 sq ft of Mayan-themed buildings, stretching over a dozen 'cabana-style' residences. The buildings at Nygard Cay eventually included a casino, a disco hut (with cameras beneath the dance floor, reportedly to shoot images of revellers from below), and the world's largest sauna, a 6,000 sq ft lodge made from 2ft-thick Canadian pine logs. In the grounds were fake volcanoes that belched dry ice, a flock of peacocks, stone cobras which hissed steam at sunset, 60 ft towers festooned with hundreds of flaming torches (lit nightly by staff) and giant statues of nude women, purportedly modelled on some of Nygard's favourite girlfriends. At weekends, he would host lavish parties, which appeared on various TV documentaries, including Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous. The place became a magnet for freeloading celebrities and, while Kai believes they generally had the most fleeting and brief relationship with Nygard, photos of their visits were then plastered across company literature and websites. Prince Andrew, to cite one example, was recorded for posterity wandering with the long-haired fashion magnate on the beach, wearing blue shorts and boat shoes. Born in the 1980s, Kai spent the first three years of his life in the Bahamas until his mother, Patricia, left Nygard, with whom she'd had three children but never married. They moved first to California and then to the Pacific Northwest in the U.S. Over subsequent years, he had almost no regular contact with the fashion tycoon aside from occasional visits during school holidays, where he met various half-siblings. 'He would have one family weekend per year at his lake cottage, and a few days set aside for Christmas,' says Kai of the somewhat unorthodox arrangement. 'During those times, the days were filled with activities like horseback riding or mini golf. 'He could be a very charismatic person when he wanted to be and the family weekends were very light and brief.' In the very limited time he spent with his father during childhood, Kai saw nothing that gave him reason to suspect that Peter Nygard was guilty of criminality, though he did have a highly volatile personality. 'He would yell and scream at his staff often, and that always was upsetting to everyone around it, but he would describe his yelling as 'passion' because of his 'high standards',' Kai says. Nygard's children were further told that he 'lived a consensual, non-monogamous lifestyle,' Kai says. 'He made speeches at dinner to family when we were together to talk about how he hoped everyone got a wonderful partner and wished that he could find that special someone, but that it wasn't the life for him. 'He also had girlfriends that were persistently with him, always two or three, and often they were around for years. He wasn't embarrassed about it. He flaunted it on TV, it was part of his brand, something he showed the whole world. He was proud of it.' Be that as it may, rumours of predatory behaviour by Nygard —and worse — had occasionally reared their ugly head, only to be quickly suppressed: a relatively easy task before the internet. In 1980, for example, he was charged with the rape of an 18-year-old, but the charge was dropped when the complainant refused to testify. In 1996, three female employees meanwhile filed sexual harassment complaints in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It looked like his hand was on her thigh, rubbing. One, a 39-year-old communications manager, said that, when called into Nygard's office, she would 'find him in a state of undress . . . with his hands down the front of his pants, fondling himself.' He settled by giving the women $18,500 (£13,600) and denied any wrongdoing. Then, in 2010, a Canadian TV network put out a Panorama-style documentary about Nygard, focusing on alleged sex abuse and harassment of former employees. It quoted a former stewardess on his private plane who alleged that on one journey — during which Nygard was accompanied by a troupe of topless women — he lost his temper with staff, shouting: 'You are nothing! You are garbage! I am God!' The programme also alleged that Nygard had engaged in 'inappropriate sexual contact' with a young woman who had been brought to his home in 2003 from the Dominican Republic. Nygard denied that either incident had happened, and sued to stop the documentary being broadcast. Fast forward to May 2019, however, and those ugly incidents were largely forgotten. Kai, who was by then in his late 30s, had worked for his father's companies for just over two years after leaving college, but quit to pursue a career in activism and health science. Nygard's trip to Los Angeles afforded them a rare opportunity to catch up, so he attended the aforementioned dinner party in Venice Beach. As the night wore on, he recalls becoming uncomfortable about his father's behaviour towards an eight-year-old girl, who was attending with her mother, one of Nygard's old girlfriends. 'He's got her sitting right next to him at dinner, which is usually his girlfriend chair. And he's a creature of routine. So I'm already thinking this is weird. 'He's trying to act like the Papa. It was just weird . . . I'm noticing things. I'm noticing that he's telling her little secrets at dinner. Putting his hand close to her ear and going all hush-hush.' At the end of dinner, most of the other 20-odd guests got up to adjourn to the card table. However, Kai adds: 'I'm still watching him. Her chair gets pushed back. He brings her round to him. 'She was on his right side. He brings her to his left side, with his arm around her waist, and I see his elbow change and start moving as if — it looked to me, I couldn't see, but it looked like his hand was on her upper thigh, and rubbing. That's what it looked like to me . . . Everything in my body told me he was doing something terrible.' 'I had a huge adrenaline rush and I immediately told the mother to get her daughter away from him,' he adds. 'I stood up next to him and looked in his eyes. At that moment, for me, it was like all the walls were crashing down around him . . . And I realised that, yeah, he's probably trying to groom that girl.' Nygard vigorously denied wrongdoing, and even called Kai 'sick' for thinking as much. But Kai was unconvinced. Then, in February last year, ten women filed a bombshell lawsuit in New York claiming that the fashion magnate had used wealth and status to 'entice underage girls' from 'young, impressionable and often impoverished backgrounds' into his home, where they would be 'plied with alcohol' and (some allege) date-rape drugs, before being taken to Nygard's private quarters, where he would 'assault, rape and sodomise' them. Court papers claimed they were then coerced into joining a globe-trotting harem of sex workers paid thousands of dollars from Nygard's company funds and trafficked around the world on his company's private jet, which reportedly boasts a stripper pole. One alleged victim, who was just 14 at the time, claimed Nygard raped her and paid her $5,000 (£3,700). Another said her encounter with Nygard began with him showing her pornography after which he raped her, 'causing her extraordinary trauma and pain', the suit states. Three of his existing ten accusers were 14 at the time. Three more were 15. Within days, dozens more alleged victims had come forward. By the summer, some 57 survivors were pursuing legal action — and the number of alleged victims had reached 100. Kai again confronted his father, only to be told it was all 'lies' and asked to speak out publicly in his father's support. But days later a friend texted Kai to complain about a recent visit to Nygard's house in Los Angeles. 'He said he'd brought a female friend with him, who had one or two drinks and had started to feel very high. Nygard took her up to his room and aggressively had sex with her, not using a condom. 'When I heard that, I knew he was not only as bad as people said he was, but was a dangerous criminal and had to be stopped.' He duly alerted the authorities about the friend's message. In a podcast called Live To Walk Again, released this week, he revealed that he began helping both the police and the alleged victims' lawyers, who he regards as 'heroes'. Over the summer, Kai also used official positions held in Nygard firms to block two apparent efforts to move assets overseas, amid concerns that the tycoon might flee to evade justice. PODCAST EPISODE: Peter Nygard Discusses His Father 'Through the course of ten months I also helped several survivors to file criminally against him, and spent countless hours on the phone with survivors, lawyers and authorities,' he says. Last month Nygard was arrested on U.S. charges at a home in the Royalwood area of Winnipeg. He spent Christmas behind bars and has consistently denied any wrongdoing, saying he 'expects to be vindicated' in court. Kai has renounced his inheritance and is working on 'making the world a better place' by campaigning to close legal loopholes exploited by sex offenders. 'I'm very happy earning my own money, as I have all my life. We've never had a trust fund or an allowance, and since his money has been made through pain and suffering, I won't accept a potential inheritance,' he says. His father's cash, he says, should instead go towards compensating victims. 'My focus now is to help the healing process.'
This match bears the dubious honor of being the first in T5 not to strike the eight-vote threshold set in T3, meaning that the total value of each vote is reduced so to prevent extreme disproportionate leads. Luckily, it was a tie anyway, at 3.5-3.5.
In the aftermath of the fight, there wasn’t much left of the stage - crystal, fungus, and scrap alike had all built up, scattered around the arena, and in the center of it all stood Funk Odyssey, skidding her bike to a halt after having eked out a victory at the last moment. Klein and Funk both stood near each other, both breathing heavily and trying to recover after the tiring ordeal, amid a roar of applause from whoever was there to watch the exciting fight. “AAAAND, WE HAVE A WINNER! A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR FUNK ODYSSEY! Wait, why’s the mic-” Cairo stopped in confusion, the microphone that was amplifying their voice cutting out all of a sudden. Shifting a glance towards the producers on set, it seemed like they weren’t aware of what caused the problem either. Confused murmurs could be heard from the stand users on-set. Okay, this was a technical error, but this was obviously salvageable - Cairo’s dealt with worse in the past, so- The already bad situation turned worse when the lights cut out entirely, the speakers in the warehouse humming to life again, though not by the hands of any of the crew members. A second later, a synthesized text-to-speech voice could be heard over the speakers. “HELLO, CITIZENS OF LOS FORTUNA. THIS BROADCAST IS BEING HIJACKED. ” What the fuck. Looking at one of the screens by the edge of the warehouse previewing the stream, Cairo could see that the stream’s been taken over entirely by whoever it was that did this, with them currently displaying some kind of placeholder image of a shrouded figure. Wasting no time, Cairo left the two combatants and made their way over to the filming crew, trying to figure out what the hell was happening and how it could be stopped. “WHETHER DUE TO MALICE OR WILLFUL IGNORANCE, BEING SO NORMAL AND ITS CREW HAVE BEEN COMPLICIT IN VARIOUS CRIMES, BOTH DURING AND PRIOR TO ITS RUNTIME.” Funk could hear the murmurings of stand users around her, and of Cairo and the rest of the crew trying to figure out what exactly was going on and how to stop them. Was this Peter’s doing? Was that why he needed her to be here? Funk remembered hearing him mention the source for this investigation of his a few times - apparently he’d been working with a “Jesse Jefferson'' from the Agricultural District who’d gotten his hands on a flashdrive made by Nova Nascens containing this information, and thanks to Peter’s skills (combined with some stand magic from that magic house Jesse lived in that repaired the hard drive every time it literally exploded in their faces). Meanwhile, it seemed like the show’s producers were still struggling to regain control of the stream. “CAIRO HAS BEEN COMPLICIT IN PROMOTING UNREST WITHIN THE INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, WORKING ALONGSIDE ODIN TO SEND STAND USERS TO FIGHT WITH LOCAL UNIONS, LEADING TO RECENT RISING TENSIONS IN THE AREA.“ “FURTHERMORE, OTHER MEMBERS OF STAFF HAVE COMMITTED VARIOUS OTHER CRIMES, BUT NONE AS MUCH AS THIS SHOW’S LEAD CAMERAWOMAN - CAROLINE JEFFORDS.” The screen shifted to an image of a brown haired woman, who Funk could only assume was caroline. Then, it began shifting to a series of other, well-laid graphs, documents, and images, all presenting evidence for the accusations shown up until now. “OVER THE YEARS, THIS WOMAN HAS COMMITTED COUNTLESS CRIMES ALL FOR THE SAKE OF PROFIT USING HER STAND - SPYING ON FIGURES OF NOTE FROM WITHIN THE CITY AND SELLING THE INFORMATION TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER, REGARDLESS OF INTENT, AND COVERING UP CRIMES AND TAMPERING WITH SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE FOR A PRICE. OF NOTE, EVIDENCE RELATING TO THE RECENT AND TRAGIC DEATH OF THE LATE ANDRÉ TIFÀNI HAS BEEN TAMPERED WITH IN ORDER TO FURTHER SHIFT THE BLAME ONTO-” The feed cut off entirely, power having simply been cut to the building entirely. If Peter had found a way to make the stream continue even after this, Funk wouldn’t be able to see it. For a moment, the warehouse was dead silent. Then, murmurings began between the various stand users in the audience, no one knowing what to make of this information. Regardless of whether the feed was cut or not, one thing was clear - The damage had already been done, and the truth had come to light. Surprises are everywhere, and there’s still yet more mysteries to be uncovered. Two boys have found doubles of themselves, who’ve lived their same lives yet all within the bounds of the city, and the four are now fighting. You only have a few hours left to vote in that when this goes up. Scenario: Sound’s Garden - Alexander Dickinson Amphitheater - Early Evening The entrance to the theater which had, months ago now, put on one of the greatest shows in the city’s history had again been filled with eager people, wanting little more than to enjoy yet concert by Metra Doria, or “TD/MD”; it had been the first in a little while, her last appearances onstage being a string of benefit shows she’d performed for immediately after the destruction of Capital Island. They weren’t bad, critics had said, but far from her best work, as though spending several weeks kidnapped by the head of a citywide crime ring had affected her ability to perform or something. Regardless, though, there were good feelings about this one, as since that fateful day, there hadn’t been a single bad show at the Alexander, and the local interview cycle had Metra come across as so much more genuinely excited than she had been, even if she also did publicly express her frustrations with the fact that, thanks to some act of sabotage, a leaking of information, the arrest of one Toby Fox had been subverted, and he and several of his buddies were still free to wreak their havoc. Guy Manuel-Mota wasn’t much one to complain about a gig, whatever that job happened to be, and though he’d known the unscrupulous nature of his client, the garish Tigran “Golden” Sins, he also knew exactly how much money the guy had, so when he said that he and Fox had wanted a man on the ground at the stage out of fear that somebody might attack Metra, that even if he was trying to move past his affections for the girl, he’d still wished to keep watch over her, quietly. If it was true, creepy. If it was a bold-faced lie, at least Guy knew damn well that they were good for their money if they had Seido fucking Shuto on retainer. Either way, he knew he’d get paid as long as he didn’t fuck up. As Guy walked up to the ticket-takers, corralling eager audience members forward, he noticed them offering strange shiny wristbands to every single person who walked by, telling them “wear it if you want!” and finding, every time, that they just sort of mindlessly nodded and did just that. When it came to be Guy’s turn, then, of course, he was much the same, accepting it and holding it in one hand, his stub in the other, as he looked the fake-gold, glittering accessory over, tilting his head as he noted the words, very subtly engraved, on it:
IWILLPLAY
“So… That’s your game, huh?” Guy asked, shrugging and slipping it on just like all the rest. He saw where this would go from here, and figured that what the guy paying him wanted was for him to play along. “Uh, sir-” The ticket taker murmured and stammered at somebody, “sir, please, you can only take one! W-we need enough commemorative wristbands for a full house, so please-” “Fuck off,” the pink-headed, ornery showgoer declared, yoinking the entire box away and fishing out several, putting a few all over his hands, “I want ‘em all!” Huh… Guess that’s ‘trouble,’ right on cue. Should I lead him somewhere alone, or just wait for something, or..? Before he could formulate a plan of action, Guy blacked out for what felt like a moment. Sound’s Garden Eastern Strip - Metra Doria’s Apartment - Earlier that Day “Well, well, well,” Ananas ‘Agnes’ Bayley said, before cracking open a can of soda, downing it in several drawn out seconds, cracking open a second, downing that in seconds, and then, a third time, before stacking all three, “how the turntables.” “…” Metra gave him a look, one which Agnes smugly knew was her asking herself, in that moment, ‘am I seriously going to work with this guy?’ It was a feeling he reveled in, being unwanted and dreaded, yet at once needed and tolerated. “So… Will you come? I’ll hook you up with VIP merch, owe you one in general, just… I dunno. I’ve been feeling extremely good about this show, excited, but now that Fox is out there again, I feel like I need… Backup, I guess? Like, I could take any one of those guys in a fight on my own, sure, but with a huge crowd, and trying to focus on my stuff, and…” “And Arpeggi and that fuckin’… catgirl were busy, I take it.” Agnes snickered, moving around the cans’ placement, never on one of Metra’s coasters, watching as little rings formed on the table. “Heh, fuck ‘em anyway. Dealing with a situation like this… You don’t need some ‘good guy’ worried about not making a mess or whatever. You need a bona fide villain to flex on these posers. Call it fate that I was available short-notice and they weren’t.” “Just…” Metra sounded resigned. “Please don’t cause too much trouble. Damages will come out of your reward.” “Snrk… Of course. It’ll come out of my pay. A sentence I hear every day from Gabanna, you know.” With Metra’s reluctance and Agnes’ amusement, a deal had been struck. Metra Doria, too, had been handed one of those strange wristbands, and she, too, seemed to black out suddenly, only realizing a moment too late exactly what, once again, this had all meant. She hadn’t approved ‘commemorative wristbands’ on the dossier, and the text on it… Goddammit! But… Her green room looked almost identical. What the hell was going on? Maybe her backup dancers would know something, or Agnes had noticed… He’d at least report to her if he had figured something out, right? …right? She stepped outside, then, only to find herself, and what she’d thought was her green room, atop a shelf in a very high-up, VIP area, a sort of outdoor box seating-type arrangement which the Alexander saved for its most prized guests. Almost always, somebody from Fox’s little club. She had been shrunk down to the size of a game piece, and sitting at a table nearby, watched with interest by about half a dozen suits she had come to recognize, was a perfect recreation of the entire stage and seating areas of the amphitheater. As she tried to process this, then, her view was taken up entirely by the giant, punchable face of Tigran Sins. “Evening, Metra! Looks like you underestimated me again… Heh, for some reason, people keep doing that.” The very garish man laughed, but his eyes were glaring down at her. Always, he’d hated her, resented the attention she’d taken from Fox. “Been awhile, hasn’t it?” “Tigran… What the fuck did you do?” Metra curled her tiny hands into fists, allowing her Stand, the headphones often seen at her neck, to manifest, “you… How many people are down there? I hear so many voices murmuring, even from here!” “Thousands upon thousands,” Tigran remarked, “all waiting none the wiser for the show you promised them… Including a side appearance from two Stand Users. You really put all your faith in a loose cannon like that Agnes kid who set a fire in my casino? You’ve been acting cool, but you’re desperate, aren’t ya? You know we’re here to stay… And what game we’re playing.” “You… You’d better run the hell away fast as soon as we’ve won, because we will ruin you.” She tried to sound defiant, there, but Metra was trembling. “Some things, a Stand User just can’t beat with all their strength, Metra… Now, c’mon.” He held up a cute little tiny limousine, cracking the door open. “You’ve got a show to do.” The crowd came to at once, already amassed within the amphitheater, seats filled, standing room similarly heavily occupied. There was hardly room to move one’s arms around in there. Which, of course, Agnes was doing anyway, swatting people away and getting called rude words, cackling as he made for himself some space. Something was fucking up here, and he did not want to be caught off-guard by- “Hey.” “Shit!” Agnes jumped, then, and turned around, seeing Guy Manuel-Mota face-to-face, staring him down with a somewhat even expression. “Hey, c’mon, I’m not that scary, am I?” Guy joked, rubbing his arms and making a point of showing off his bracelet, then gesturing at it, and at the stage, and saying, “anyway, my name’s Guy Manuel-Mota. You probably already realize this, Agnes, but… You’re already in a trap here. Both of us are stuck, even.” “Heheh, what, are you trying to warn me or something? Well, I don’t need an alliance with you… So fuck off.” “I wasn’t asking for one.” Guy corrected, then, adding, “you know how Tigran Sins works… The only way we’re getting out of this is through each other.” “My fucking thoughts exactly,” Agnes answered, “and exactly what I came here for… A chance to pound that gold-wearing fuck’s face in. I hear he really hates that shit, so I’ll make it permanent. Guy’s casual demeanor, then, turned into a stiff, serious face, hands at the blades on his person. “You won’t last that long.” “Oh, you’re fucking on, you-” “Alright, Los Fortuna! Give it up for exactly what you came here for!” An announcer’s voice cheered on, then, ringing through the arena almost deafeningly loud, followed by a cascade of rising cheers. The noise distracted Agnes, and Guy made his getaway. “Back again at the Alexander Dickinson…” Shit… So many people here, not even paying attention. Where did he go? “Unbreakable, unshakeable, here to give the show of her life again as she always does… TD/MD!” Metra strutted out onto the stage, then, to the cheers of the crowd, but Agnes noticed that she seemed to be frequently looking up towards the sky, or towards the various short-circuit cameras wired to display her on the jumbotrons. The crowd seemed too vapid, too fandom-consumed to notice, but there was apprehension in her every step in that casual yet elegant performing costume of hers. “It means so much to me to see you all out here… Really, I appreciate every single one of you, even if I don’t know you! Just the fact that you came here…” She was trying not to sound guilty as hell there, for what she and all of them had fallen into. Agnes wasn’t sure whether to feel bad, to get mad at Tigran Sins for pulling one over on them again, or to laugh. “So! I’m just going to start with a classic, alright? Keep the emergency exits in mind, but more than that, get ready, because what’s coming is something hard to describe! Let’s make it a night worth remembering!” Guy continued to grasp his swords, keeping close to the crowd, close to the stage. Cruel what you’re doing, Mr. Sins… And you didn’t tell me I’d be fighting the guy who ripped the Ocean Soul’s arm off. I’d better get a hell of a bonus for this. OPEN THE GAME! Location: The Alexander Dickinson Amphitheater, in the Entertainment District (specifically, a perfect replica of its crowd area). The area for the match here is 50 by 60 meters, with each tile being 5 by 5 meters. Agnes starts at the middle left and Guy starts in the middle right as represented by their respectively colored team tokens. The stage is at the top as represented by the grey semi-circle. The audience members are represented by the red circles and the venue is sectioned off as a concert generally would be. Each seating section is represented by the blue, green, and yellow transparencies. These areas are roped off to keep them separate. The dotted semi-circular line is a row of metal security fences to keep people from getting too close to the stage. Goal: RETIRE your opponent! Additional Information: The audience members all have flat two physicals, and are mostly paying attention to the ongoing concert, eager and excited fans that they are. Metra Doria is performing onstage with a backing band, and it’s quite loud, yet somehow (the noise-altering effect of her Stand, maybe?) you aren’t debilitated by it. The audience members won’t deliberately cooperate with you in any meaningful way, and don’t particularly care about one another either, but will try to avoid getting hurt if they can see it coming. Due to brazen threats on the guests by Tigran and the rest, none of Metra’s crew will interfere in the match, and are basically as good as non-entities mechanically, but it goes without saying that harming them or outright ruining the performance will lead to Fox canonically and successfully killing you with a giant rock. So don’t go on the stage itself.
“Faceless gazes passing by with me / The void in my heart changed with the path I chose” You find these ED guys absolutely loathsome, but the idea of completely stealing Metra’s thunder is nonetheless appealing to your villainous heart. Act as cool as possible in your own way!

Does anyone else find it really hard to relate to the main story and main characters? (some spoilers)
Some spoilers below here and lots of ranting for closure; if you havent finished the game, maybe better stop reading and finish the game first. So, I had zero expectations and just jumped in and have played a lot in the last few weeks, I have finished all main and side missions, NCPD hustles and encounters, I have checked out every ending except the secret one, I am blown away by a lot of the art work and design and music and visuals and just how much is going on in every single corner of the city and... I still dont know who these people are, what they want from me or what I really want in NightCity or from anyone, and what the endings are supposed to tell me and who the "good guys" are, if such a thing exists. I just cant really get into the world or find much sympathy for most of the characters, especially for Johnny - no idea what to make of him and through all the dialogue options, almost no matter what you say to him, whether you are for or against him, insult him or try sympathy... he always has some stupid comeback or snarky remark or pulls exposition out of his memory banks. He's even more synthetic and un-real than being an engram suggests. There's hardly ever an honest, human heart to heart until the very end when he suddenly seems to do a total 180 because the script said so, it's 95% weird shouting match up to that point and I have no idea what his character is supposed to be except "shallow rebel who talks back no matter what you say". What makes it worse, it seems every time you insult him or be nice to him doesnt really matter, except one of the dialogues where you pretty much got to sort-of insult him and that then unlocks the secret ending... a tiny little side remark.. and hardly any other talk with him seems to change much except another 1 option to unlock his side mission. Plus he is a "badass anti-corpo punk rokkkarr".. who drives a quarter million dollar (international congolomerate Volkswagen arasaka Group) 911 turbo lol. W T F? I kinda liked the short partnership with Jackie a bit, big funny burly dude with character, but I dont get Misty AT ALL and she looks and acts creepy as all hell and is not a good callback to Bladerunner. Judy kinda seems alright but annoyingly engaging at first but as a male V that's not going anywhere anyway so it's a ton of cockteasing and in the end-credits her message is ALWAYS the same (well except that one worst ending), she seems to care the least about V and the choices you make.. and her own storyline doesnt seem to have a positive ending no matter what. The whole game revels in grey and grey areas and murky greyness, no light or justice or happy ending. Takemura is the only one I can midly understand, a pawn sacrificed in corpo politics / murder wanting to restore his honor and he's a stereotypical Samurai-retainer-pro, the story with him was kinda cool but then arasaka is made out to be the bad guy no matter whether the sister, the brother or the dad gets to rule it. More grey, no light at the end of that tunnel either. Panam has a lot of positives but she's SO aggro and hotheaded to a fault, almost comically, somehow we are supposed to view the Aldecaldos as the sort-of good guys? But they are like a callback to the delusional EasyRider-hippie era of yesteryear and we all know how "great" that turned out. And they just steal stuff, and in the "good ending" you sacrifice a lot of those people just to plug yourself in and find out it was all for nothing anyway. Well, at least you get to experience family but nowhere was it set up that V was missing that and then you will very likely still die. After 6 months of more stealing for "the family". ('member, corpos stealing = bad, fixers and aldecaldos stealin = good, sticking it to the man) And Rogue? She's supposed to be the bone-dry cold-hearted business biatch, but then you poke her a little bit and she gives it all up to storm ze evil tower for, I guess, shits and giggles and because she used to like Johnny a whole lot. Still no idea what chicks would see in Johnny as a character, except u know it's Keanu. (Who I think was mis-cast, he's like an awesome friendly lovely golden retriever puppy, not a druggie snarky drunk groupie-fucking punk-rocker with delusions of grandeur and a rockstar attitude that would give 80s glamrock bands a run for their hairspray) The space casino ending is really weird too, the game ends with V looking like he's squeezing out sthg into his spacesuit? No sure what we are meant to feel. For all the anti-corpo babble we have to sit through, somehow that doesnt apply to mercs and to fixers who are making their money off of mercs and shady deals? I dont know, I dont feel at home in NC nor do I feel like I got to experience SO much NC that I (intentionally) "get it" and just have to get out, I mostly dont care either way. None of it really connects or seems to matter, so you bunny hop around and just snipe through rocks and walls and quickhack until the map is empty, as empty as your very soul will feel after the hours you put into it. But oh boy does it look seriously amazing. Two counter-examples that really stuck out for me: I liked looking for River's brother, and I loved the politician side quest. That mission alone had more engaging and understandable, awesome story telling than the whole main story, it really connected and hits you - HARD. It's heart breaking, very human. Everything else is so murky grey and just lacks all heart and soul somehow. Anyone else felt like that and found it hard to connect with the main story or characters? Want to commiserate?
Sae Niijima is the best character in Persona 5 (spoilers)
Posted this in Persona 5 and it kept getting auto removed for whatever reason, i spent a long time writing it so here it is! Sae Niijima is the best part of Persona 5 (spoilers) I'll start by just noting that I'm going to be talking about Makoto a decent amount also, although mostly in relation to Sae. I'm not here to convince you that Sae Niijima should be your personal favorite part of Persona 5. I'm not even here to convince you that you should her if you don't; part of the beauty of her character is that she isn't always all that likable anyway. What I am here to do is explain to you why, from a writing standpoint, Sae is absolutely one of the very best parts of the story. Persona and the Absence of Parent/Child Relationships I read a great reddit post a while back regarding Makoto's character that went into a lot more depth on this issue than I'm going to, and I've also seen a number of other people comment on the positive change that the Sae/Makoto relationship made in this regard, so I doubt that my perspective on this will be particularly new for anyone reading (I am going to find that reddit post and provide a link in the comments after writing this, btw). However, I do think it's a key factor in what makes Sae so effective, and so I'm going to talk about it anyway. In a series full of teenagers with little to no notable parental influence, Sae and Makoto's relationship manages to bring family life to the forefront of the story. While Sae is Makoto's older sister, and not her mother, the significant age different between them and Sae's role as guardian colors their dynamic with parent/child overtones. The game does not half ass the exploration of this relationship; many scenes and lines of dialogue are dedicated to fleshing it out and exploring it. Through it, we are able to experience a new type of conflict in a Persona story: loyalty to family versus the goals of the group. As I noted earlier, most parents in Persona games are absent, and therefore cannot provide any sort resistance to a character's goals. The pull that Makoto feels towards her sister even as she actively goes against her by working with the Phantom Thieves is constant and palpable, even allowing her to serve as a red herring for the traitor (not a very convincing red herring, mind you, but a red herring nonetheless). The scene where Sae receives her calling card and Makoto breaks down crying, declaring that she is "on your [Sae's] side" is heartbreaking. It serves as the culmination to the mental and emotional conflict that Makoto has been experiencing the entire game. I think it's also important to note the complexity of this dynamic: it is simultaneously very loving and yet filled with lingering resentment. I think this is something that is lost on many people, and the game could have done a better job portraying it at times (my most significant critique would be that there is no scene depicting their reconciliation after Sae's palace). Yet, I don't think it can be questioned that there is clearly a deep love between them. As I already discussed, Makoto's feelings are obvious, since the loyalty she feels to Sae acts as her primary source of conflict throughout the entirety of the game. Sae is a more complicated case. Her acting as Makoto's guardian and providing for her is the most obvious sign that she cares. I don't know the details of the custody system in Japan, but I highly doubt that Sae was "required" to take Makoto in, nor was she automatically given custody. She probably had to petition for it. The pressure to provide for another person is clearly a contributing factor in her unhealthy obsession to succeed at her job. The fact that her confidant actually begins following the revelation that Makoto was part of the Phantom Thieves is also very notable, as it marks the beginning of her really trying to listen to/believe the protagonist's story. I would be remiss if I didn't mention *that* scene, and you all know which one I'm talking about. It has spawned A LOT of Sae hate and a lot of admittedly very funny memes. The scene where Sae lashes out at Makoto is one of the most brutal in the entire game, with many fans claiming that her actions in this moment are utterly unforgivable. While I do understand this sentiment, I would counter with the idea that most people, at some stage in their life, have said something horrible to somebody that they love. This is part of what makes Sae such a wonderfully human character: she isn't perfect. Far from it. She fucks up and does bad things, just like people do in real life. I think her immediate response after saying this speaks volumes. She apologizes immediately, and yes, it's an awkward, shitty apology, but it's clearly an apology coming from someone who knows they did something really wrong and has no idea how to fix it. Anyway, I've been on this topic for a while, so let's move on. Plot Relevance and the Structural Backbone of Persona 5 I think the only character that you could reasonably argue has more plot relevance than Sae is Akechi, and that is mostly only because of his role as the protagonist's "rival" character. Despite Akechi being the detective that is pursuing the Phantom Thieves, I actually think Sae feels far more like a detective that is pursuing the Phantom Thieves. This is due in large part to the fact that her job requires investigation as well, but regardless, my point is that she feels like more of an active threat. Her obsession with them is brilliantly escalated; while she does view them as criminals and disagrees with their methods from the start, it isn't until they take down Kaneshiro that she truly fixates on them. In her mind, they stole her chance at a promotion, and that makes things personal between them. She is an important source of information on the mental shutdowns, as she is revealed to be secretly investigation them on the side. Unbeknownst to her, this also means that she is acting against Shido and the SIU for the entirety of the game, which makes her one of their targets and prompts them to assign her to the Phantom Thieves case. This is an active effort to set her up for a loss, and her desperation as the weeks go on and she continues to make little progress is palpable. She also serves as the structural backbone of the game, which I absolutely love but has also spawned a lot of memes online (someone must have wiped your ass when you took a shit, who was it?! Tell me!). The very first shot of the game is the front of her casino, with the statue of her out front holding the judgment scale in her hand. The structure of the game from that point on, all the way to the end of her palace, is centered around the main character convincing her to believe him, and side with the Phantom Thieves. If you miss a deadline for one of the palaces, you will get a game over, because the inaccurate recount of events has failed to convince Sae Niijima to save your life. This is the crux of the Phantom Theives' master plan to trick Akechi, and is their greatest gamble. They are banking on the idea that, at the end of the day, Sae is a good person. Returning to that opening shot of her casino later in the game when you are finally ready to traverse her palace always gives me chills, as it is a clear sign that this is the moment the game has been building towards. Towards the end of the story (Sae's palace onwards) she serves as a kind of "inside man" for the Phantom Thieves. While they continue to change things in ways that the law can't, she fights for progress from within. When the group sets Shido as their last target, Sae vows to make him face justice in a court of law after they change his heart. This drives home the idea that the Phantom Thieves simply cannot do everything all on their own, and they must work with adults in order to achieve lasting change. In many ways, Sae is the missing piece, and their partnership with her is what makes the team truly complete. A Life Outside of the Protagonist I want to start talking about this topic by noting that Persona 3 is my favorite persona game. I've played it four times, and will probably continue to replay it until the day that I simply can no longer hold a controller. One of the things that I love most about the cast of Persona 3 is that you never get the sense that the protagonist is the end all be all; without him, the characters would still likely be experiencing the same triumphs and hardships that they experience throughout the actual story, albeit in a slightly different way or at a different pace. The formation of SEES is not tied to him and the development of the characters does not rely on him. I love the dynamic between Sae and Makoto for many of the same reasons. Their relationship and the issues that go along with it are completely separate from the main character, and even the Phantom Thieves in general. The post about Makoto that I am going to link in the comments also talks about this idea. Without the protagonist, they would still have the same troubled, complicated family dynamic that they have throughout the story. This helps give the sense that there are things that are simply bigger than the main character. While some players may like when the main character feels like the end all be all because it always for a sort of wish-fulfillment self insert, I personally don't prefer it, and so this entirely separate dynamic is very welcome. Sae is also given many scenes dedication to her, whether it be her with Makoto, or her with Akechi, or just her by herself (or with NPCs). The point is, they are scenes completely absent of the protagonist, which is notably different from the rest of the game. "Rotten Adults" and Unavoidable Hardship An idea that I think Sae's character is very important in presenting is the notion that sometimes, life just doesn't really allow you to rebel or "stick it to the man" the way that the Phantom Thieves do. When Sae lashes out and expresses that Makoto could never possibly understand her struggles because she isn't a provider, she isn't exactly incorrect. The vast majority of their father's responsibilities did fall on her shoulders upon his death, simply because she was the eldest. So, where Makoto has the freedom to act out and "rebel," Sae does not have the same luxury. Her portrayal always gave me the sense that she was person with a very strong sense of justice, who entered the field of law because she hoped that she would be able to do some good and make positive change. However, when she got there, she quickly grew disillusioned with it all when she realized that "justice" didn't actually matter at all. This is in part due to her father's death while on duty, which contributed to her budding belief that justice is meaningless, and in part due to the fact that justice is quite literally meaningless in her job that is supposed to be all about upholding the law. She was stuck in her job, however, because she had to provide for another person and therefore couldn't just quit because she was unhappy with the system in place. So, she ultimately adhered to the idea that winning is all that matters, not the concept of what is lawful or unlawful. It's quite a classic case of "person that initially hated the system ultimately grows to perpetuate it." I think this perspective is important because the game is very fond of throwing around terms like "rotten adults" (looking at you, Ryuji). Sae's character presents the idea that some people who grow do bad things aren't evil, they have just been dealt a bad hand in life and are ultimately beaten into submission due to their circumstances. The fact that she manages to change her own heart rather than having the Phantom Thieves do it for her furthers this idea, because it demonstrates her innate goodness even though it had been hidden for a long time. Anyway, I think that's it for my rambling. If you actually read this far, I really hope you enjoyed, and thank you for reading! I'd love to hear any thoughts that you have in the comments.
Putting Bond's revenge against Quantum at the centre of Quantum of Solace
Saw the post mentioning that no one has attempted to give Quantum of Solace a rewrite and decided to give it a shot. It was actually harder than I thought. Rewatching it I think many of the film’s issues comes from the director writer than writing. I think the generally plotting of the film is fairly decent, especially giving the ongoing writer’s strike at the time. The main issue is that there’s effectively two films going on: One in which Bond is hunting down Quantum seeking revenge for Vesper and one in which Bond goes rogue in order to stop the CIA financing a coup d’etat in Boliva. My main goal was to try better merge them into a more cohesive story. In particular I want to give Vesper’s former lover, Yusuf Kabira, (ie the reason she betrays Bond and then gets murdered in Casino Royale) more of a role, rather than just having him be relegated to a single scene at the end of the film.
The Changes
· Making Yusuf Kabira, Vesper’s former lover, a major character, effectively serving as the main henchman of the film · Changing Camille’s backstory. Instead of being a Bolivian agent she’s the daughter of the current Bolivian president and she’s has also been seduced by Kabira. Quantum’s plan is to expose the relationship between the President’s daughter and a foreign agent, thus creating a political scandal that will pre-empt a coup d’état by General Medrano. · We cut Dominic Greene and the Plot To Steal Bolivar’s Water entirely. We give most of Greene’s role to Mr White. · Finally, we are going to play up the whole Bond Versus the CIA thing. Lets try and use Jefferey Wright more and give Felix a bit of a redemption arc
The new plot
We are going to cut the opening car chase entirely and start with Bond driving into the Sienna safehouse having captured Mr White at the end of Casino Royale. Waiting inside the safehouse are M and another agent called Yusuf Kabira. Bond can greet Kabira saying something like “How was Bolivia?” and he replies with something witty like “Very stimulating”. The interrogation goes the same way as the original as Kabira is revealed to be a double agent and helps Mr White escape. Bond chases Kabira across the rooftops of Sienna. They can briefly fight but Kabira is able to escape. Cut to the opening title sequence. After the titles we see MI6 investigating Kabira’s London apartment. In a secret compartment they discovered files on Vesper Lynd including photos of Kabira and Vesper together. Bond is visibly shaken by this information and M asks him if Bond can be trusted to keep his feelings separate from his job. Bond assures M he will. He also suggests looking into Kabira’s recent mission in Bolivar. When they do, they discover that Kabira was having frequent meetings with a mysterious woman at a particular hotel and will soon meet her again. Kabira meets the mysterious woman, who we learn is called Camille, in the hotel in Santa Cruz, Boliva. The two are clearly lovers. They go to their room but are ambushed by Bond waiting for them there. We then basically get the scene from the end of Quantum of Solace where Bond reveals who Kabira is to Camille and shows her the necklace he gave to Vesper, identical to one Kabira’s given to Camille. Camille is obviously shocked by this revelation. At gunpoint Bond orders the two of them into a car to drive to an airfield where MI6 is waiting to arrest Kabira. In the car Kabira taunts Bond about Vesper. The car is soon stopped by members of the Bolivian military led by a General Medrano. Bond now finds himself being captured as he is separated from Kabira and Camille and taking to a different site. There he discovers Felix Leiter and several other CIA agents. Initially Bond is pleased to see an ally but quickly realises that Felix and the CIA are working with Medrano and Kabira. Leiter tries to justify himself saying that things are more complicated than they seem, and that MI6 has no business getting involved in Bolivia. He also reveals that Camille is the daughter of the Bolivian president. He pleads with Bond to go back to London and forget about what he has seen. Bond refuses and escapes leading to a chase between Bond and the CIA. Bond is able to make his way to the airfield where he leaves Bolivia, dejected after failing to capture Kabira and avenge Vesper. We then see Leiter meeting with White and Medrano. This pretty much resembles the scene from the original film where the CIA strikes a non-interference deal with the pair in exchange for the USA gaining access to Bolivian oil. After Leiter leaves, Medrano tells White that he has held up his end of the bargain and accuses White of unnecessarily delays. White argues that they need the support of the other partners of “his organisation” before they can go ahead, and Medrano replies that perhaps he should speak to White’s partners in person. MI6 discover that Medrano has booked a ticket to see an opera in Bregenz, Austria and Bond goes to investigate. We then get the scene from the original film where the leaders of Quantum have their meeting during the Opera. Medrano is also at the meeting and we hear the Quantum members give their assent to go ahead with Medrano and White’s plan to expose the relationship between Camille and Kabira (who will be presented as a British spy) thus creating a political scandal which will cause a crisis allowing Medrano to seize power. Afterwards Medrano will allow Quantum to take control of Bolivia’s oil fields. With Medrano is Camille who is clearly being held there against her will. When she excuses herself to go to the bathroom Medrano sends one of his men to watch her. Camille still attempts to escapes and Bond intervenes helping her but blowing his cover in the process and gets caught in a very public shoot out with Medrano’s men. Medrano and the other members of Quantum escape. We then cut to London where we see M getting a dressing down from the foreign secretary in the aftermath of the shooting in Austria. The foreign secretary tells M that the Prime Minister has bowed to American pressure and order that all MI6 operations in South America be terminated. With no choice M calls Bond and orders him to return to England but Bond of course refuses. M once again asks if his desire to get revenge on Kabira for Vesper’s death is affecting his decision-making. Bond hangs up. In a safehouse Bond and Camille watch as news of Camille’s relationship with Kabira makes international headlines and the crisis Medrano and White engineered begins to take shape. Bond and Camille open up to each other, with Bond hinting at his past with Vesper. They resolve to return to Bolivia and attempt to prevent Medrano’s coup d’état. Without MI6 aid Bond turns to Rene Mathis who, after being acquitted of being a double agent following Casino Royale, is living in retirement in the south of France. Mathis agrees to help them, and they use his private jet to fly to Bolivia. As they reach Bolivian airspace two American fighter jets begin tailing them, ordering them to land. Bond, Mathis and Rene agree that their only option is to abandon the plane only to learn there’s only one parachute onboard. Mathis tells Bond and Camille to escape while he leads the Americans away, sacrificing himself. Bond tries to protest. Mathis tells Bond that Vesper did love him. As Bond and Camille cling to each other with the parachute they see Mathis’ plane get shot down. Once they land, they make their way to Bolivia’s capital La Paz. Felix contacts Bond for a meeting, effectively offering a brief truce. Camille tells Bond its a trap, but Bond decides to go anyway. They meet in a bar and Bond is able to convince Felix that Medrano will betray the CIA and give Quantum access to the Bolivan oil fields. Felix tells Bond that they are currently being watched by other CIA agents and as soon as Bond leaves, they will try to kill him. Felix gives Bond a location to go to if he survives. Evading the American agents Bond goes to this location and discovers Felix has left him a file detailing the CIA’s involvement in the impending coup d’état. We then see tanks rolling into La Paz as the Medrano’s coup d’état begins. Medrano arrives at the state television station to announce his takeover. Bond and Camille race to the station to try to stop him. Fighting their way through Medrano’s men they are confronted by Kabira. Bond and Kabira get locked in a one-on-one shootout as Camille goes to take on Medrano alone. She finds the studio where Medrano is broadcasting the announcement of his new rule. His men have all left to stop Bond leaving Medrano all alone. Camille shoots Medrano and starts showing the Felix’s evidence of the CIA’s involvement. Mr White, watching this unfold, orders the broadcast be stopped by any means necessary. The tanks outside the television station suddenly begin firing on the building, reducing it to rubble. We cut back to Bond and Kabira who are now fighting hand-to-hand. As the building starts to collapse Kabira becomes trapped under falling debris. In desperation he reaches out to Bond. Bond holds out his hand, only to drop Vesper’s necklace in front of him. He leaves Kabira to die. Finding Camille, the two escape the collapsing television station. They go to the Bolivian Presidential Palace as the Bolivian military either retreats or surrenders around them. There Camille’s family is waiting. The two kiss before parting ways. Cut to a few weeks later Bond meets Leiter on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Leiter tells Bond that Mr White and the other members of Quantum have all gone underground and can’t be found. Bond asks Leiter if he’s been reprimanded for the whole Bolivian affair and Leiter replies he’s being sent on a dead-end assignment to San Monique. The two part as friends. As Felix leaves Bond receives a call from M about his next mission.

Every branch in the on line casino has a function to play, and each is important for different reasons. Our guests could not stay with us long if we failed to rent janitorial services and our restaurants might not promote an awful lot without the cooking workforce. Likewise, the on line casino advertising and marketing department is vital to the fulfillment of the casino. Consider the breadth of duty held in the on line casino marketing blend: promotions, advertising, participant evaluations, player golf equipment, host staff, comps, scores and slot advertising and marketing - and this is just to name some. If you are looking for more information about 우리카지노 click here link. While it might be exaggeration to signify that players could forestall coming to the casino if those disappeared, we might pass over out on exponentially increasing sales opportunities have to we choose to no longer take gain of all that the on line casino marketing department can offer. Promotions Few events breed pleasure within the lives of our casino visitors as lots as the promotions we offer within the on line casino. They preserve the records at the refrigerator and mark the date on their calendar. They sit up for each event and breathe within the exhilaration the promotion guarantees to convey. Obviously, the primary reason for such activities is the revenue that is generated from the growth in play. However, it is also arguable that the heightened degree of anticipation creates a loyalty inside the visitor that lends itself to repeated revenues in the destiny as nicely. The marketing branch is vital in the assessment and implementation of these promotions. The advertising workforce is first accountable for the evaluation of beyond promotions to decide what mixture of occasions and gives may be best on which days of the week which will make certain the utter-most profitability. Obviously, these regulations will range by location and on line casino and simplest a strategic evaluation of beyond promotions, regardless of outcome, will offer the records had to make informed and logical decisions. For example, an assessment of your past slot tournaments may additionally screen that Tuesdays are extra worthwhile than Thursdays. As a result, it could be a steeply-priced mistake to make any assumptions regarding the feasibility and profitability of these events. Instead, an intensive analysis conducted with the aid of the advertising and marketing branch will ensure the premier fulfillment of all future promotional campaigns. After the profitability assessment comes the instruction. In order for each event to achieve success, the advertising and marketing department ought to wear a whole lot of hats to maximize the event. They are the masters of communication that ensure that all departments are running in synchronization in guidance for, and for the duration of, the occasion. Additionally, it's far their organizational competencies and attention to detail inside the preparation with a purpose to make certain that guests are well received and revel in the occasion to it fullest. And allow us to no longer neglect the event itself. This is while the host personnel genuinely live as much as their name, welcoming the visitors into the occasion and ensuring that everybody is having a tremendous time. This is your birthday party and your shoppers are precisely that, guests in your private home. Advertising It's now not a stretch to remember that none of the above would be viable with out informing guests of the merchandising and no matter which approach, or strategies, you pick out, the best way to do this is advertising and marketing. Whether you use mail, cellphone, email or maybe non-public conversations, advertising is how you preserve in verbal exchange with your visitors. Remember that flyer on the refrigerator? It had to be conceived, designed, created, printed, addressed and mailed. It's a variety of details simply to remind your guest of an occasion, but with cutting-edge tempo of life, it is a essential reminder that would imply the distinction between their attendance or absence. Advertising can also be used for non-promotion communications that generate earnings on your casino: room offers, meals specials, on line casino information and amusement are all ways to hold in touch together with your patron base and provide that little greater reminder to carry them returned into the on line casino. Leverage the advertising and marketing branch to be always aware about every possibility for communication that solidifies your courting together with your visitors. Player Evaluations/Ratings Player assessment is a crucial factor to ensuring on line casino ROI via strategic evaluation of participant expenditure and this assessment is first-rate performed by using the host group of workers to your advertising branch. They have the visibility to the guest's play and as a end result have the capability to determine the player's status and, as you already know, this popularity is vital for more than one motives. To correspond to the sooner dialogue on promotions, know-how a participant's status will make sure that we are inviting guests to events that correspond to their stage of play. It would not be beneficial to invite a guest that slightly meets the necessities of your lowest tier of play to the identical New Year's Gala as your VIP visitors. Comping Policies On a associated be aware, popularity is also critical to knowledge the limits thru which comping maintains the casino profitable. Well-trained advertising and marketing hosts know the casino's comping policies are able to make decisions approximately which comps will in the long run generate more sales for the on line casino thru persisted, or elevated, play. Of course, comping exists at each level of play, but comping incorrectly, whether over or underneath, will in the end price the on line casino money. Over-comping a penny slots player decreases the on line casino's income similar to beneath-comping a high-restrict participant would possibly suggest losing the ones revenues to every other casino. The advertising and marketing branch, and most significantly the host staff, understands this stability and could be the on line casino's advocates for comping in a way that is useful to the enterprise. Host Staff While we are on the topic, a discussion approximately the importance of the advertising department could no longer be entire with out along with the casino host staff. They are the ambassadors of your casino and your VIPs' number one factor of touch. As such, they are quintessential in your normal marketing plan. Not best that, however when aggressively and correctly educated, they may be instrumental in maximizing casino earnings and increasing sales era. All advised, the casino marketing department is the hub of your on line casino operations. They create, analyze and pressure sales into the on line casino and as a result, the branch have to be a well-oiled gadget so as to live on pinnacle of the ever-changing casino commercial enterprise. With the right business enterprise, route, shape and education, they're unequivocally your finest asset.
